The Temptation Episode Six
“Let me get you pregnant. Thank you for agreeing to carry my baby. If you can do this for me, I will give you anything you want. My wife has not been able to give me a child since we got married five years ago. I was thinking I will give her more time, but now that I have met someone like you, it is better I get you pregnant and have a baby now that I'm still a young man. I can't keep waiting for her. Before I met you, I was not really thinking of the fact that I don't have children. I'm so happy you reminded me.” Ndu said to Doris. They were together in a hotel room where they were having a nice time after Ndu left the hospital where he was pretending to be sick.
“But you must promise to marry me. I can't just get pregnant for you without commitment. You must promise me that after getting pregnant, you will chase your wife away and get married to me. That is the only condition under which I will get pregnant and bear a child for you. It is now very clear that your wife is barren. If you don't get me pregnant, you might never have the chance to have your own children. So, are you going to marry me?” Doris said. She was touching Ndu in a sweet way so that he would promise to marry her.
“Yes, I will marry you if you can give me a child. Just get pregnant first. I will chase my wife away and marry you. But everything must be done in secret. My wife should not know about it. Once you are pregnant, I will tell her to leave my house. Then you can come in and become my wife.” Ndu said.
“Alright! Then get me pregnant. I'm ready to carry your baby. I'm ready to be your wife. I'm ready to be your own forever. I'm ready to love you.” Doris said with happiness, knowing that she had captured Ndu's heart.
“I have paid for this hotel room, and we can use it for one month. We will keep making love for the next one month until you get pregnant. Once you get pregnant, we will go back to my house and become husband and wife.” Ndu said with happiness. They made love that night.
For many days, Ndu did not go back home. He goes to work from the hotel and also comes back to the hotel in the evening. Doris also did not go back home. They lived in the hotel.
“I like the fact that we are now together. We are living like a husband and wife. The only thing remaining now is for you to divorce your wife and marry me.” Dori said.
“I will soon divorce her.” Ndu responded.
Meanwhile, Afoma has not been able to reach her husband for more than two weeks. Each time she calls his line, the phone would ring, but Ndu would refuse to take the call. Afoma was losing her mind.
“The worst part is that I don't even know where he is right now. How can my husband not come home for two weeks? He has not even cared to call me and each time I call him, he would not take my calls. I have even visited Doris’ house but he is not there. Where is my husband? Where is he staying and who is he staying with? I think it's time for me to report this matter to the police.” Afoma tells herself. That night, she cried herself to sleep.
When Afoma woke up the next day, she decided to track her husband's phone number. She took the phone number to an IT technician who immediately tracked her husband's phone number and located it in a hotel room in Lagos. Afoma's instincts told her to also track Doris’ phone number. She gave Doris’ phone to the technician who also tracked it and located it in the same hotel where Ndu was.
“The person who owns this number and your husband are in the same hotel room right now.” The technician said to Afoma. Afoma left the shop after collecting the address from the technician.
“I'm going to teach Doris a lesson. Since she has decided to steal my husband from me, I'm also going to show her that she is not the only person who knows how to cause trouble in this Lagos.” Afoma said. She was driving to the hotel.
“If I catch her with my husband, I will show her pepper. After handling her, she will never sleep with someone's husband again, ever in her life. Let me just get to the hotel. Today is the last day Doris will sleep with someone's husband. If that is what she has been doing in Lagos, I will make sure she does not go scot-free after doing it with my husband.” Afoma said.
She branched into a shop by the roadside and bought a’cid. She intends to throw the a’cid on Doris’ face when she catches her with her husband.
“I will use this a’cid to damage her face. She thinks she is beautiful, but I'm about to make her ugly. When I finish with her, no man will ever look at her face again. I will use this a’cid to bath her.” Afoma tells herself. She poured the liquid into a small container and kept it in her car.
Soon, she drove into the hotel premises and parked her car. She came down and walked to the reception area. She bribed the receptionist and got the room number in which Doris and Ndu were staying. Afoma took the elevator and went straight to the room. She knocked on the door. Already, she has positioned the a’cid so that she will throw it when Doris opens the door.
“She should come out and open the door. I have a very big gift for her. I want to give her something she will never forget.” Afoma said in her heart. She knocked on the door the second time.
