The Childless Wife

Episode 7

"Why are you saying the baby does not belong to me? What makes you think the baby is not mine?" Lolade's husband asked after she confessed what she did with the pastor. He was heartbroken but at the same time was not ready to accept the fact that he cannot get a woman pregnant. He fully believes the child in Lolade's womb belongs to him.

"The child in your womb belongs to me. I don't care who you may have slept with. All I know is that you are my wife and I got you pregnant. Also, I will personally confront the pastor and warn him to stay away from my wife. I don't want you to panic. Tell me the name of the pastor and give me the address of where his church is located. I want to go there next thing tomorrow morning so that I will give him serious warning. If he ever disturbs my wife again, he will have me to contend with." Her husband said. He proceeded to hold her up because she was still kneeling down. He made her to sit down on the soft chair in the living room.

Lolade was left in total shock. She was expecting her husband to start shouting at her, but the man was rather calm. Instead, he directed his anger at the pastor.

"This is why I don't ever want to have anything to do with fake pastors. All they care about is how to extort money from people. The man just wants money from you. However, we are not going to give him a dime. He should do whatever it is he wants to do. I don't care. I don't want you to be afraid." Her husband said. He sat beside her. He reached for his briefcase and brought out a necklace he bought for her when he was returning from work.

"I bought this gold necklace for you when I was returning. I branched to the shopping mall to get you something to serve as a gift for making me a father. I'm not going to allow anything to spoil my mood. I was in a very good mood when I was coming back and I want to remain in that mood. Please, accept this gift as a token of my appreciation to you for making me a father. The baby in your womb belongs to me. Do not listen to that pastor. He was not the one who got you pregnant. I'm your husband. I have been sleeping with you all the time and I believe I was the one who planted the seed in your womb.

Forget about the pastor, I will personally handle him." He said. He put the beautiful gold necklace on Lolade's neck.

"The necklace has transformed you. You look Just like a queen. I love you so much my wife. Look at the beauty queen that God gave me as a wife." Her husband said. Lolade was still in deep shock. She has not been able to say anything since her husband said the pregnancy belongs to him and not the pastor. She never expected that kind of reaction from him. She opened her mouth and looked at her husband in shock.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You think I'm joking right? The baby in your womb belongs to me. Please, you have nothing to fear. You said you slept with the pastor and that he got you pregnant, but I'm saying even if you slept with him, the pregnancy belongs to me. I don't care. No one will take away my joy." He said loudly.

"Look, I understand that you were pushed to the wall by barrenness. I understand that it was a difficult situation for you. I know what it means for a woman to be barren. I know you were heartbroken when it took too long for you to conceive. I know it is very difficult. It was not easy for me too. Any woman in your position would have thought of a way out of the problem. I know you felt downcast. I know you you took the decision to sleep with the pastor because you wanted a quick solution to our childlessness. That was why you slept with the pastor. I do not count it against you. I will never hold it against you because you were in a very difficult situation. But believe me, the baby in your womb does not belong to the pastor. The child belongs to me." He said.

Lolade's husband was the one who made food for them that night. He asked his wife to relax her nerves. Already, Lolade was too shocked to do any house chores. Also, her husband has started pampering her like an egg despite the confession she just made.

"I don't want you to stress yourself. Just relax and enjoy your husband." Lolade's husband said.

The next morning, he started his car and drove to the pastor's church. Lolade gave him the address the previous night. When he got there, the pastor was in his office as usual.

"My wife said you slept with her and that you are threatening to expose some videos in your possession. She said you want to send me the videos to expose her.
