The Childless Wife Episode Six

"You think I'm going to allow you to destroy my

life? You won't be able to do that. I'm fully prepared for you. Before you will destroy me, I will destroy you first. We had an agreement. You never told me I was going to pay you for getting me pregnant. You said you are a man of God and that you get women pregnant for free. Why are you now trying to make it look as if I forced you to do it? You told me it is free of charge. You even said you have done it for my friend before. How much did my friend pay you for the four pregnancies you gave her? If you try me, I will show you that I'm different from other women you threaten." Lolade tells the pastor.

After some days of persistent disturbances from the pastor, Lolade decided to pay him a visit. She has been worried about the whole thing but she decided that being worried will not solve her problem. She knew that if she behaved as if she was afraid, the pastor will never leave her alone. She also knew that if she gives the pastor money, he will keep coming for more. So, she drove to the pastor's office to warn him.

"I'm not the only person in this video. You are also here. Don't you think you will also be in trouble if you show this video to my husband? If you even mess up, I will use my hand and post it on the internet. You stand to lose more. You are a pastor. What do you think people will say when they see that you slept with somebody's wife and got her pregnant? Look, I'm not afraid of you. I know that I have done something wrong by going to bed with you but I'm not going to give you any money." Lolade said. She was shouting while the pastor listened to her calmly as if he was trying to formulate what he would say.

"You have a large church with many branches in all parts of the country. I'm going to expose you and destroy you. If you ever call me or threaten me again, I will teach you a bitter lesson." Lolade said.

"You are joking right? You think I'm afraid to be exposed? This is not the first time I'm coming across a stubborn woman like you. When you finish shouting, you will still do what I have told you. I have your secret. I'm a powerful man. No one will believe you if you tell them that I made love to you. They will believe me because I have money and power. My followers believe in me.

My church members worship me. They believe I'm a man of God. If you like, show them the video, they will still defend me. You are the one in trouble here, not me. You better start looking for the N5 million or be prepared to face your husband by the time he will see this video." The pastor said.

Lolade did not respond. She just walked out of the office. Already, she has made up her mind on what she wants to do. She went home straight and waited for her husband. She knew that the pastor will use her and play football if she did not act fast.

"It is better for me to tell my husband the truth instead of allowing the information to come from the pastor. I will use my mouth and expose myself and face the consequences. If I wait for too long, the pastor will rob 'poto poto' on my face. I have already made the mistake of sleeping with him. Let me just tell my husband the truth and face the music. I was the one who put myself in this problem. I will face whatever consequences that comes out of it." Lolade said to herself. She was weeping in the living room and waiting for her husband to return from work.

"I will show my husband these two videos and let him know the pastor has more. I will tell him the truth about who is responsible for the pregnancy. I know he will feel heartbroken but I have no option. I have to let him know the truth of what I did. My friend misled me." Lolade said. Just then, she heard her husband's car driving into the compound. She prepared herself to tell the truth. She brought out her phone in readiness to show her husband the video. When her husband walked into the living room, she stood up from the chair and knelt on the floor.

"My husband, I have done something terrible and I want to use my mouth to tell you before you will hear it outside." Lolade said to her husband who was shocked to see her kneeling down.

"What did you do wrong? Please stand up. You have not offended me. The last time I checked, you made me happy by telling me you are pregnant. What do you mean when you say you have done something terribly wrong?" Her husband asked. He tried to help her up but she rejected the gesture.

"Please, I have something to tell you. The baby in my womb is not yours. I got pregnant through another man. The man is a pastor. I went to him for prayers and he convinced me that he can get me pregnant. I fell into the temptation and allowed him to touch me and now, I'm pregnant for him. I'm confessing to you because he is threatening to tell you. He said I must give him N5 million or he will tell you." Lolade said tearfully. Her husband was shocked.

"You are joking right?" Her husband asked.

"I'm not joking. He even recorded a video of the whole thing we did in bed." Lolade said. She brought out her phone and showed the video to her husband.
