19 Years in the UK Episode Five

Bolu was not expecting to see her husband in Nigeria any time soon. That was why she was shocked the moment she saw him walking into his office. He looked like someone who died but who just returned back to life. As she was looking at him, she felt like she was looking at a ghost. She felt like someone who was dreaming. She pinched herself so that she could wake up from her dream, but she soon realized that she was not dreaming. She realized that she was seeing her husband in reality. It was not a dream.

"Please, tell me I'm dreaming. Tell me this is really happening. Please, what is going on here? What is happening here? Is this really my husband that I'm looking at or is it another human being standing before me? I feel like I'm seeing a ghost. I feel like I'm hallucinating. No! This is not real!" Bolu said to herself. Samuel was confused because of the way she was sounding. Samuel has not met Bolu's husband in real person before. He has only seen him in photographs. It was only on a closer observation that he realized that the man standing in the office was his girlfriend's husband. He became really scared. Luckily for Bolu and Samuel, they were not doing anything romantic when Baron entered the office. Samuel decided to leave silently when he realized Baron was really back in flesh and blood.

"My dear wife! I know you may not believe it, but it is me. I'm back. I'm back once and for all and I'm never going to leave you again. I'm back to be with you. I have missed you so much. All the years I spent in the UK, I have been dreaming of a day like this. I have been dreaming of our reunion. I'm happy it is happening just the way I dreamt it. I have made money. I have made a lot of money and I'm back to take care of you." Baron tells his wife who was still looking at him in shock.

"I know you are in shock but you have to believe that I'm the one standing here before you. I came back without telling you because I wanted the whole thing to be a surprise. I just got home and my mother told me that you are now a bank manager. I'm so proud of all you have achieved for yourself. She gave me the address, so I decided to come and meet you without delay. Please, stand up and follow me let us go to my house. I bought a new house just for the two of us. You don't have to stay in the family house anymore. Now, we shall live happily ever after as husband and wife. Please, follow me. I also bought a car for you." Baron said. He was sounding very romantic, but Bolu was still watching him with her mouth open. She has not said yes or no to his request.

"If you don't believe I'm the one standing here, you can come and touch me and you will see that I will not disappear. This is me, Baron, your dearest husband who you have been waiting for. I have been bragging to people and telling them that when return, I'm still going to meet you intact, waiting for me, untouched by any other. I know the woman I married and I know you are a faithful and morally upright woman. Please, let us go." Baron said. Still, Bolu hasn't responded to his request. Baron was beginning to be worried. He wondered what was going on in Bolu's mind.

When Baron was coming to the bank, he had entered a supermarket and bought a nice-looking rose flower which he was still holding. He immediately knelt down and started begging Bolu. He stretched the rose flower towards her and expected her to jump up and take it in happiness. In his mind, he was thinking that Bolu has missed him so much that she would not waste any time to rush and embrace him. That was what he was thinking when he was coming to the bank. But Bolu's behavior since he entered the office made him to be confused. He wondered what his wife was thinking.

"Please, my dear wife says something. I'm getting tired of kneeling down. Please, take this flower from me and let us go home. I'm so sorry that I kept you waiting for all these years. I'm so sorry for not allowing you to join me in the UK. I'm so sorry that I spent a long time without calling to know how you were doing. It was my fault, but I was only hustling for our financial prosperity. I was only trying to help us escape poverty. And now, I have succeeded in achieving success. To show you that I love you, I have come back to enjoy the money with you. You are still my wife and I don't have any other woman anywhere. I never touched another woman since I left Nigeria. I was faithfully keeping my body for you." Baron said. Finally, Bolu opened her mouth to talk.

"You are not serious! You mean after 19 years, you are coming home to tell me you still love me? How is that love? You abandoned the person you claim you love for 19 years to chase money? What if I had died before you returned? If you met me dead, who would you enjoy the money with? You are such a liar! After marrying another person abroad, you are coming here to deceive me. Please, stand up and leave my office immediate." Bolu said with anger in her voice. Before Baron could say another word, Bolu called security and Baron was thrown out of the bank.

But deep down, Bolu wanted to follow her. Just that she was trying to know how she can explain to her husband that she has moved on and that she is pregnant for another man.

"How am I going to handle this problem?" She asked herself in tears when she was alone in the office.
