The Strength of a Woman Episode Two

Juliana is a very determined young woman who does not back out of a fight easily. Although, she was not aware that Chief Willie was married to another woman, one thing she knows is that she was not going to just walk away and leave her husband in the hospital bed where he was lying critically ill. Juliana was not sure how to handle Angel or how to respond to her at the hospital, but that does not mean she was afraid. She was initially shocked when Angel entered the hospital ward and made the unexpected announcement, but as time went on, she began to plan her response strategy. She decided that she won't leave.

"What makes you think I will just walk away and leave my husband for you? Even if he was your husband or you gave birth to his children as you claim, he also married me properly. For your information, I'm not a side chick or some kind of cheap girl he picked by the roadside. He actually married me properly. We did both traditional and court wedding. So, I have a valid reason and a strong claim to be by his side when he needs help. Besides, my husband is not dead. Are you wishing him dead? Why are you people behaving as if you have been waiting for him to die so that you will come and claim his wealth? You sound like a very wicked woman." Juliana said. She was standing face to face with Angel who was behaving like a boss lady. Her grownup children had already entered the hospital ward and they were encircling Chief Willie as if they wanted to survey to see if he was still alive or dead.

"I know he married you properly. I'm aware that he paid your bride price and you people had an elaborate wedding. I also know you are carrying his baby. You are his proper wife, I don't doubt this at all. However, I want to ask: where were you when I struggled with my husband to build all the wealth he has today? Or you think the wealth fell from heaven? When he married me, he had nothing. We lived in a one-room apartment. That was where we started until we grew and became wealthy. He was as poor as a church rat when he got married to me. I stayed with him and we worked hard to build the money you are enjoying today. You think you can come from nowhere to inherit his property and I will fold my hands and watch you while you take everything I labored for? I was Chief Willie's wife for 35 years. I had children for him and the children cannot be left empty handed simply because he has found an opportunistic young girl he will be sleeping with in old age." Angel said with a bossy attitude.

It is clear that Angel has more experience in family trouble than Juliana. The woman is strong and she too was not going to walk away without a fight. Juliana is not aware of the circumstances that led to the separation of Chief Willie and his first wife Angel. But from what she could see, Angel has been waiting patiently for the man's death so that she would come to fight for her children. Juliana could also see that Angel's children hate Chief Willie. It is as if Angel had turned them against the billionaire.

"Like I said, my husband is not dead. I don't know why he dumped you, but I'm not leaving him. I will stay here until he recovers. He is not going to die. He is going to walk out of this hospital alive. Don't look down on me. I might be younger than you but you cannot just push me aside. I will not allow you ride over me." Juliana said forcefully.

"You are going to leave." One of the grownup children brought by Angel said. His name is Jerry. He looked huge and by merely looking at him, Juliana knew she cannot face the man standing before him.

"Oh yes! You will leave! Are you not ashamed? Why did you agree to marry an old man? You are an opportunistic young woman looking for wealth to inherit. Well, I'm here to let you know that we will not allow you to take over what belong to us. I'm not sure my father is responsible for that pregnancy you are carrying. Maybe, you brought the pregnancy from outside so that you will use it trap him and steal his wealth while myself and my siblings go empty handed. Now, leave this hospital ward or I will push you." Jerry said.

Juliana became scared as all the grownup children gathered around her and told her to leave. If she tried to resist them, they might injure her or the baby in her womb. She decided to leave peacefully. She was ashamed of herself, but she had no option.

"I can only fight for myself and my husband if I'm alive. If they kill me, that means they have won." Juliana said as she leaves the hospital ward.

As soon as she left, Chief Willie's life was in danger because Angel had come there with his children and they had a clear plan. Their plan was to finish Chief Willie and take over his wealth.

"It is time to finish him off. Bring the poison. Let us inject it into his drip before anyone will discover that we are here." Angel said to her children. Jerry reached for his pocket and brought out the poison they bought.

"Do it now! Be fast, we need to go to his house and take over this night." Angel tells her son, Jerry who was ready to inject. But just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Open the door. I'm the doctor caring for Chief Willie." Someone said from outside the ward.
