The Dying Billionaire Episode 7

Ebube and Dike knew the lawyer was the only person who could stop them from taking everything Chief Omenka left behind. So, they planned and kidnapped him. They took him to a small house far away from the city, not the same place where Pamela was being kept. Dike made sure his phone was off and untraceable. They tied the lawyer to a chair in a dark room. Ebube looked at him and said, "You will do exactly what we ask you to do, or you won't leave this place alive." The lawyer stared at her without saying a word.

Dike brought out a fake document and dropped it on the table. "You're going to write a new will, " he said. "This time, everything my father owns will belong to me. The houses, the lands, the companies, everything." The lawyer shook his head slowly. "This is illegal. I can't do that," he replied. Ebube pointed a small pistol at him. "You can, and you will," she said coldly. "Do it, or we will end it here. Nobody will ever find your body." The lawyer knew they meant business. He picked up the pen with shaky hands.

He began to write. Dike stood close to him and watched every word. "Make sure you include the company shares," Dike said. "And also the offshore accounts in Dubai. My father told me about them." The lawyer paused. "Do you even know what you're doing? If this gets out, you both will go to jail." Ebube shouted, "Just write! You talk too much." After an hour, the fake will was completed. Dike collected the document and smiled. "Good boy," he said. "Now you can rest." He turned to his mother. Ebube nodded quietly.

Without saying another word, Dike brought out a rope and strangled the lawyer. It didn't take long before the man stopped moving. They wrapped his body in a thick black nylon and took it out of the house at night. They drove to their house where they hid him with the intention to bury him the next day. "Nobody must ever know what we did," Ebube whispered. "If anyone finds out, everything will be gone." Dike nodded and replied, "Don't worry, Mama. I will protect you."

Meanwhile, Pamela was still locked up in the other location. She had been there for days without proper food. The kidnappers only gave her water and small bread. She looked dirty and weak. One afternoon, one of the younger guards came to check on her. Pamela noticed the gold necklace she had hidden inside her dress. She managed to sit up. "I have something for you," she said slowly. The guard looked around and asked, "What is it?" Pamela brought out the necklace. "This is worth half a million. If you let me go, it's yours."

The guard stared at the necklace for a while. He had never seen such a fine piece before. "How do I know it's real?" he asked. Pamela replied, "You can check it. It's real gold. Just let me go. I won't say anything to anybody. I swear." The man kept thinking. After a few minutes, he made up his mind. "Fine," he said. "But I will only open the door for five minutes. If anyone sees me, I'm finished." Pamela promised to run fast. The man unlocked the door and walked away. Pamela stepped out quickly.

She ran without looking back. The area was quiet, and the gate was already open. She didn't know where she was, but she kept running. After about ten minutes, she saw a small road and followed it. A bike man was passing. She waved him down. "Please help me. Take me to the nearest police station," she begged. The man looked at her dirty clothes and bruised arms.

"Who are you?" he asked. "My name is Pamela. I was kidnapped," she replied. The man allowed her to climb and he rode off. Pamela felt like she had just escaped death.

At the police station, she explained everything. She told them who she was, who kidnapped her, and where she was kept. The police officers were shocked. They had been looking for her for weeks. "You're lucky to be alive," one officer said. Pamela nodded. "They wanted me to lose the baby. They didn't feed me. They treated me like an animal." The officers called their boss and arrangements were made to send men to the place she had escaped from. Pamela was given food, water, and a place to rest. Her nightmare was not over yet.

Later that evening, the officer in charge called a senior officer. "We need to act fast," he said. "This woman is carrying the child of Chief Omenka. That baby might be the only true heir to the man's wealth." The senior officer agreed. He gave the order. "Send men to the location she mentioned. We must arrest everyone Involved." Pamela sat quietly in one corner. She was tired and hungry, but she was happy. She touched her stomach gently. "You will be fine, my baby," she whispered. "Mummy is going to protect you."

Back at Ebube's house, Dike didn't know that Pamela had escaped. He was relaxed. He thought everything was under control. "Mama, I'm thinking of throwing a party soon," he said.

"We have to celebrate this new beginning."

Ebube smiled. "Yes, my son. Everything is finally working in our favour." But unknown to them, trouble was on the way. The woman they had tried to destroy was now in safe hands. And soon, the police would come knocking. The real war had just begun.
