Searching For a Male Child Episode Five

Since Okenwa married Eberechi, she has never raised her voice to talk to him loudly. In fact, she has never questioned him. She has never had the courage to ask questions whenever her husband takes decision that would affect her negatively. Also, since they got married, this is the first time that Eberechi had the courage to say she was not going to give her honey pot to Okenwa. Her husband was shocked when he heard Eberechi telling him that there would be no show for him that night. She has never said such a thing before and he wondered what gave her that courage to decide when childbirth would stop in the family.

"So, you are talking back at me? Who gave you

the courage to speak to me in that manner? I was the one who married you and brought you into my house. You have no rights to decide when childbirth would stop in this house. Childbirth will not stop until I get a male child. I'm your husband I have the right to say I want 20 children. I have the right to give birth to 50 children if I so wish. You dare to talk back when I said you should come to bed and meet me? It is as if you are running mad. Have you forgotten who you are talking to? I'm your husband and I'm in charge of this house. You are not the one in charge. I'm the breadwinner in this house, so I still decide what happens." Okenwa said. He had stood up from the bed and he was standing face to face with Eberechi.

Eberechi was afraid but she was still determined not to allow her husband to touch her. She was prepared to take the risk and she was not going to back down. No matter what happens, she was not going to get pregnant again. She was done giving birth. Whatever is going to happen, let it happen.

"I have told you I'm not going to get pregnant for you again. I'm done with childbirth. Nothing will make me get pregnant in this house again. I will never open my honey pot for you and you will never control my life again. I'm not your slave. And like I said, stand up and go back to your room because nothing for you this night. It is my pot and I have covered it tightly and locked it with padlock. You don't deserve to have a woman like me as a wife. I have seen that you want to kill me. I'm not yet ready to die. I'm not getting pregnant for the 9th time."

Eberchi said with a loud voice.

"Our people say that if a bird is dancing in the road, the thing that is drumming for him is in the bush. I'm aware that you did not just pick up this courage to talk to me the way you like. I know that someone is giving you the morale.

There must be someone somewhere pushing you. I know that whenever I go to the shop, you go out to gossip with women in the estate.

However, just know that the person is trying to push you into fire. By the time you will start suffering the consequences of what you are doing, the person will not be here to help you.

You better think twice before resisting your

husband. You better come to bed and open your

water pot for me let me drink cool water." Okenwa said angrily, but Eberechi did not listen to him.

"I don't care what you are going to do to me. My heart is made up. I'm not going to allow you to touch me ever again. Remove that from your mind because it is not going to happen. This is my body and I'm the one who will determine what will happen to it from today going forward. Please, leave my room." Eberechi shouted.

"How dare you ask me to leave your room? Are you mad?" Okenwa asked. He grabbed Eberechi's hand and yanked her to the bed, but she quickly stood up with the speed of a tigress.

"If you touch me again, you will see what I will do to you." Eberechi said. Still, Okenwa could not believe that it was Eberechi who was talking to him and threatening to deal with him mercilessly.

Eberechi opened the door of the room again and asked Okenwa to leave. Again, he pulled her and attempted to slap her but she dodged it, standing firmly and refusing to be defeated by her husband who at that time, had gotten very angry.

"I said you should come to bed and meet me." Okenwa said.

"I said you should leave my room." Eberechi responded.

"How dare you chase me away from a house I build? Every room in this house belongs to me and not you." Okenwa answered.

Okenwa made his move again. This time around, he held Eberechi tightly, dragging her around the room and trying to take her to bed but she resisted him. As she was struggling to free herself, Okenwa refused to leave her. Eberech raised her leg from the back and kicked like a horse. Her leg landed on Okenwa's 'supreme headquarters' and the two eggs there were touched. That was when Okenwa let go of Eberechi. He screamed and left the room in pain. He ran out of the house and called his driver to take him to the hospital.

"I think the eggs in my 'supreme headquarters' are damaged. Please, rush me to the hospital." Okenwa told the driver. He quickly rushed into the car but he was not able to sit. He was in pains, so he lay down in the back seat of the car.

When they got to the hospital, the doctors started asking him what happened, but he was too ashamed to say it.

"What happened to your headquarters? Did any heavy object touch your 'cassava?" One of the doctors asked.

"Please, you people should just check and see that everything is intact. I cannot take it if it is broken." Okenwa said tearfully.
