The Man From China Episode Seven

Chin Cheng woke up that morning with a stronger body. The herbs and spices Adanna gave to him the previous night worked wonders in his body. That morning, he could talk and see properly because his head had stopped spinning. He had stopped feeling weak. His health had been restored. He took time to look at Adanna who was still sleeping. He was looking at her protruding baby bump and feeling happy that the child in her womb belonged to him. He was also wondering why Adanna still remained very beautiful despite the fact that she was in the bush.

"How did she maintain her beauty in this thick forest? It baffles me that she remained as beautiful as she was on the day she was banished. How was she able to survive the whole thing? I'm so happy that I have a beautiful and strong woman who can stand and take good care of herself even in the face of difficult challenges such as living in the dangerous bush like this. Now that I have found her, I'm ready to sacrifice my life for her and the baby in her womb. I will never allow anything to happen to them." Chin Cheng said happily.

"I have to do something special for her before she will give birth. I have to build a house in this forest. I will not allow her to continue living in this anthill. I have to build a proper house. I will go back and invite my friends to come and help me to construct a house for my woman and the baby in her womb. I don't mind relocating to live here with her. This evening, I will go back to the village to bring my friends who will help me." Chin Cheng said.

"I need to get everything ready before she will give birth. I need to prepare the place so that it would accommodate a baby. I don't want anything to happen to her or the baby in her womb on the day she will give birth. If anything happens to her, I will not be able to forgive myself. I owe it to her and the baby to make sure they are fine. Even if it means spending all the money in my bank account, I don't care so far as they are fine and healthy. I'm so happy I summoned the courage to come here. Now, we have been reunited." Chin Cheng said. He was deeply engrossed in his own thoughts.

"But there was something she was saying yesterday that I did not understand. She was calling herself the queen of the forest. She also said the unborn child in her womb is the future king of the village. I really don't understand what that means. I think I will have to ask her to explain more. She also said she heard it clearly when she entered the forest, but what does that mean? Is my fiancé now capable of talking to people in the spirit world?" Chin Cheng was confused as he kept thinking of the things that Adanna said.

Chin Cheng came out from the anthill. He stepped into the forest. He looked around and found the place to be very beautiful. It was unbelievably calm and soothing to his senses. He instantly fell in love with the forest. The place was no longer as dark as it was the previous night. Also, he did not see any dangerous animal. He was only hearing the chirping of birds and the whizzing of tree branches. The place looked like heaven. He used his eyes to map out the place, thinking of where he would build a house.

"There is enough space here for us to build a house. This forest looks so beautiful. I think the reason why I was afraid was because of the darkness. Now that it is daybreak, I'm no longer afraid. The place is so peaceful and soothing.

We can live here if the villagers don't want us to enter the village again. I will build this place and transform it into a heaven that even the villages will like to come and see. And when they come to see it, I will be charging them money." Chin Cheng said. Then, someone tapped his shoulder. When he turned, he saw that it was Adanna.

"What are you thinking about? You are looking around the forest as if you are searching for something. What is going on in your mind?" Adanna asked with a smile. She was holding her protruding baby bump. Chin Cheng looked at her and smiled happily. Each time he sees Adanna, he feels very happy. Since he fell in love with her, he has been a happier man. He does not want to ever leave Adanna.

"I'm thinking of how I will turn this place into palace for you. I don't mind using all the money I have earned in Nigeria to do it. I will turn this forest into a tourist destination that will attract people from all over the world. The people will come to see the animals and the beautiful tall trees. Your people said this place is an evil forest. But I'm going to rename it as 'the good forest. I will turn it around for you and for my son." Chin Cheng said while holding Adanna.

"That's exactly what I was trying to say yesterday. I heard the message clearly when I entered the forest. I did not see the person that spoke to me, but I was told that this place would become the center of the whole village and that my son would become the king. I was told that as this place becomes developed, the people in the village would love to move here because of the good things in the forest. And then, my son would rule over them. That's why I'm calling him the future king." Adanna said.

"Well, I guess you are right because immediately I came out, I saw what I want to use this place to do." Chin Cheng said. After eating that morning, he went back to the village to call his friends.
