The Man From China Episode Three

Chin Cheng was thrown into detention at the king's palace. For several days, he stayed there, thinking of Adanna and the baby in her womb. He was not given food or water for three days. However, what bothered him the most was how he could come out of detention so that he would make an attempt to rescue Adanna, his girlfriend. He did not want anything bad to happen to Adanna or the baby she was carrying her womb.

"I don't want her to die. She has been in the bush for many days and there is no one to help her. She has not eating or had anything to drink. This is not good for a pregnant woman. I feel so sad right now. I feel like I'm responsible for the pain Adanna is going through in the bush." Chin Cheng said while still in detention at the palace.

"How I wish they would release me. I will go out in search of Adanna and I will make sure I find her and help her. The Crown Prince is a very bad person. Why is he treating human beings like trash? Well, weather he likes it or not, I will still make it out of this detention and I will find my make it out of this detention and I will find my girlfriend and I will rescue her." Chin Cheng said. He waited for many days and it was clear to him that the Crown Prince would not release him.

"It is as if this man wants me to die in detention. For the number of days I have been here, I have not received food or water. I have not drank nor eaten. The man is treating me as if I'm not a human being. Prisoners are supposed to be fed. He wants me to die, but I will not die." The Chinese man said to himself. He is determined to leave the palace alive, but he also knew he would die there if he continues to wait for the guards to come and release him. The fact that he has not been fed anything was bad enough for him to see the handwriting on the wall.

"I think the man will never release me. He thinks I was the one who stopped the marriage between him and Adanna from taking place. Не is holding that against me but I don't care. He should do whatever he wants to me but I'm getting out of this place alive." Chin Cheng said. He started thinking of how to escape from the guardroom at the palace. Since he was detained there, no one had come to open it or to even check on him. So he knew there was no way would be released.

"How am I going to get out of this place?" Chin Cheng asked himself as he sat down to think of what to do. His body was already very weak because of hunger and thirst. He was just being strong and determined. He looked around the detention room and saw a piece of wire that looked tiny but strong. It was a piece of wire left there by the electricians who worked at the palace some weeks ago. He picked up the wire and curved it into the shape of a key.

"I will try to use this to open the guard room."

Chin Cheng said. Night had fallen and he was eager to run away before daybreak. He wants to escape so he would try to locate the evil forest where Adanna was banished to.

"I will be so happy if this wire opens this door." He stood up and went to the door. He carefully inserted the wire into the keyhole and started turning it with a lot of care and skills. Chin Cheng is a construction technician who knows exactly how things work. He knows the technology behind keys and what the keyholes look like on the inside. After several minutes of skillfully turning the wire inside the keyhole, he successfully opened the door. The door made a little noise when it was opening. Chin Cheng waited a little for the noise to die down before he came out to the veranda leading to the guard room.

"I'm outside now. The next problem is how to leave the palace undetected by the security men. But I can't see any of them. Are they not on duty?" Chin Cheng asked himself when he carefully peeped outside. Outside the palace, the darkness was thick, but within the compound, everywhere was lit.

"If I walk out of this place, people might see me and raise an alarm. But I have no option but to try. I will walk out confidently. If they catch me, the worse they can do is to put me back in the cell." Chin Cheng said. He confidently stepped out after he checked and did not see any security man on sight. He walked normally as if he was not running away. He even walked past some people who did not behave as if they knew him. Soon, he got to the gate of the palace. It was at the gate that he met one security man.

"Stop there. Where are you going? You are supposed to be in detention." The security man shouted. He had no gun. He only had a cutlass.

"I have been released by the Crown Prince. Do you think I would be allowed to get to the gate if I was not released?" Chin Cheng said confidently. He did not panic, he just looked at the security man and spoke to him directly.

"You can go." The security man said. Chin Cheng stepped out of the palace and stepped into the night.

"I'm free at last. Now, let me go and look for Adanna. But first, let me go home and carry some things with me." Chin Cheng said. He went to base and picked his bag. He had a gun in the bag. He also ate food and carried some in his bag for Adanna.

"By the time I come back, I will return with Adanna." Chin Cheng said as he went in search of the evil forest.
