Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige introduced exclusive trailer from The Fantastic Four: First Steps during Disney’s panel at CinemaCon 2025. The presentation featured key scenes, major plot teases, and the debut of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, offering audiences a first look at the MCU’s take on Marvel’s First Family. The film releases in theaters on July 25, 2025.

The footage begins with the team on The Gilbert Show, where the host recaps how the characters gained powers during a space mission. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Matt Shakman is the director of the film, which marks the group’s first appearance in the MCU.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ trailer confirmed Sue Storm’s pregnancy, which is revealed during a family dinner scene. Johnny Storm congratulates Sue and teases Reed by saying he is “out of his depth.”

Kirby’s Sue later tells Reed, “We can do this,” and adds, “We will face this together. We will fight it together — as a family” (via The Hollywood Reporter). Reed also states during a press conference, “We will protect you,” in response to public concerns.

Julia Garner was revealed as a female version of the Silver Surfer in the trailer. She arrives and asks the group if they are “the protectors of this world” before warning, “your planet has been marked for death.”

Her design draws inspiration from Shalla-Bal, a comic book version of the Silver Surfer, who served as Galactus’ herald. The footage closes with her riding her board through an apocalyptic explosion.

The trailer also introduces the implied presence of Franklin Richards, the unborn child of Sue and Reed. In the comics, Franklin possesses immense, multiverse-altering powers. This narrative element connects to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which features the Fantastic Four and has Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, with the Russo Brothers serving as the directors.
