Avengers: Doomsday Cast: Halle Berry Gives Heartbreaking Update for Storm’s Return

Halle Berry recently shared a disappointing update regarding the possibility of her joining the cast of Avengers: Doomsday as Storm. The cast of the upcoming Marvel Studios production was unveiled a few days ago. Along with the current MCU characters like Thor, Loki, Thunderbolts* etc., the cast reveal also announced the return of some of the old X-Men members.

Halle Berry asks people to ‘keep waiting’ for Storm’s return in Avengers: Doomsday

Halle Berry recently attended CinemaCon, where she stopped for a chat with Black Girl Nerds. The conversation started with Berry discussing her upcoming movie with Chris Hemsworth, Crime 101. She then went on to share an update regarding her rumored appearance in Avengers: Doomsday as Storm.

The reporter from Black Girl Nerds told the actress, “Fans want to see your name on the chair for the next announcement of Avengers: Doomsday, so we didn’t see Storm. So we want to see your name,” to which the X-Men star responded, “Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there.”

Berry’s answer comes just after rumors surrounding her possible return took over social media. According to a previous report by SuperHeroHype, days after the cast announcement of Avengers: Doomsday, noted industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello claimed that Berry would return for the movie.

However, now her answer has left fans, who wanted to see her alongside her other X-Men co-stars again, disappointed. However, there’s a possibility that Berry could be returning but hiding it just like other MCU stars Andrew Garfield and Tatiana Maslany have done in the past. Moreoeve, Kevin Feige conveyed at CinemaCon 2025 that the cast of Avengers: Doomsday is incomplete and that more actors will be announced.

The rumors of Berry’s return as Storm first ignited before the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which came out in July 2024. However, she did not reprise her role in the movie. While talking to ComicBook.com in August 2024, Berry revealed, “Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.”
