Searching For a Male Child Episode 15

Eberechi did not know exactly how to respond to Okenwa who was kneeling before her and begging her to come back home as his wife. She was not sure if she should forgive him and go back to his house. She can't tell if her husband was serious or if he was just pretending and looking for a way to lure her back to his house to continue mistreating her. Her mind was divided and she does not want to make any mistakes. She has suffered a lot in Okenwa's house since she got married to him, so she wanted to be careful now that she had gained some freedom.

"Please say something! I truly love you and you are the only woman that understands me in this life. I cannot stay with any other woman. You are the only person I will live with. My life will not work without you in it. I made the mistake of treating you badly, but now, I'm going to correct that mistake if you accept to follow me back home and remain my wife. I have realized that my life is incomplete without you. I can't live a happy life without you. Please come back." Okenwa continued begging, but Eberechi still hasn't said a word.

"Why are you not talking? I came here specifically to beg for your forgiveness and I'm not going back home until you have replied me. You remain my wife and I don't want us to stay apart anymore. I want us to stay together as one happy family. These few days of living alone have taught me a huge lesson. Please, come back, let us live like husband and wife again. This time around, I will treat you well, and I will care for you like a princess." He said. Eberechi was still standing there.

Many people shopping at the supermarket were watching what was happening. Some of them knew Okenwa as Eberechi's husband while some strangers were wondering who the man was and why he was begging Eberechi. The drama continued while Eberechi stood there with her face lifted up absentmindedly as if she was not hearing what her husband was saying. Inwardly, she was scared of saying yes and she was also scared of saying no. She wants to say no but she is considering the future of her children. She does not want them to grow my life is incomplete without you. I can't live a happy life without you. Please come back." Okenwa continued begging, but Eberechi still hasn't said a word.

Inwardly, she was scared of saying yes and she was also scared of saying no. She wants to say no but she is considering the future of her children. She does not want them to grow regretting in a few days. She got to Alozie's house and luckily, he did not go to his office that day. He was resting under a shade in his house, reading newspapers. He was happy to see Eberechi but he was not sure what brought her to his house by that time of the day.

"This one that you left your shop this afternoon, is everything alright?" You look worried. What happened at your shop?" Alozie asked. He dropped the newspaper he was reading, ready to listen to Eberechi.

"Good afternoon sir. Everything is fine. I'm just confused and I'm coming to seek your advice." Eberechi responded.

"Please calm down. And sit down. Now, talk to me. What is the problem? What happened? What is making you to be confused?" Alozie asked.

"My husband is asking for forgiveness. He has asked me to return to his house. He promised to take good care of me this time around. He came to the supermarket where he knelt down to beg me with flowers. He was even crying." Eberechi said.

"I want you to search your heart properly, and tell me what you want to do. Do you want to go back to your husband? I want a sincere answer, not an emotional one. Do you wish to go back and live with your husband?" Alozie asked.

"I don't know! I'm confused and scared. I don't want to make a mistake." She said.

"You don't have to be confused. Considering all you have gone through, do you still want to go back to him? You can forgive him, but it is not compulsory to still live under the same roof with him." Alozie said.

"Thanks! That's all I want to hear. I know what to do now. I will go to his house now and give him a reply." Eberechi said as she runs off. She went straight to her husband's house. Okenwa was in the living room eating bread and washing it down with minerals when Eberechi entered.

"I forgive you for everything you did against me. I also ask that you should forgive me for whatever I must have done against you. It's because of me that you lost your cassava. But I'm not going to return to this house to live again. I have moved on. You will have access to your children whenever you want and they will answer your name. However, it's obvious that me and you cannot live peacefully again. I don't want to die before my time. Besides, I now have my own money and I can take care of my children. It is better for us to stay apart before we kill each other." Eberechi said. She turned and started leaving. She could hear her husband weeping as she was going but she did not turn.

"Money is good. I will forever be grateful to Alozie for empowering me and helping me to leave this toxic marriage. If you don't have money, you could die under oppression. Thank God I now have money." Eberechi said as she stepped out of Okenwa's house.

THE END.
