Surviving in Canada Episode Eight

Ekaette has become a very busy woman. She is not always at home and even if she was at home, Dr Williams does not know where she lives. But he knows where the hotel is located because he saw the name on television. He traced the hotel and located it. He wanted to see Ekaette and have a discussion with her. Dr Williams wanted to tell Ekaette to go back to Nigeria so that she would not spoil his marriage with the Oyinbo woman. He did not like the fact that Ekaette has become popular and she was telling her story on television stations.

"I cannot allow her to continue to disgrace me on social media and national television. She wants to destroy everything I have worked for. She just came from Nigeria without informing me. Why did she come to Canada without letting me know? It is wrong for Ekaette to come here and try to scatter things I have built over the past ten years. She wants my Oyinbo wife to divorce me. She is intruding into my life and I will not allow her to do that. I will not allow her to scatter my family." Dr Williams said. He was driving to the hotel.

"I don't know the kind of demon that entered her head and pushed her to come to Canada. She should have stayed in Nigeria instead of coming here to cause problems for me. It is true that I got married to her in Nigeria, but I now have another woman in my life. She should have known that I will not stay in Canada for ten years without having another woman. I'm still a young man. She should go back to Nigeria and find another man that will marry her. I don't care if she marries another man. I just want her to leave me and my Oyinbo wife alone. If she eventually makes my Oyinbo wife to divorce me, we will put leg in one trouser." Dr Williams said angrily. He was getting very close to the hotel.

When he got to the hotel, he parked his car at the hotel's car park and then got out. He walked to the reception and asked about Ekaette. The receptionist wanted to know why he was looking for Ekaette but Dr Williams couldn't summon the courage to tell the truth. He just said he would like to see Ekaette for business purpose.

The receptionist decided to call Ekaette who was in the hotel kitchen training some cooks.

"Do you have an appointment with anyone? A man wants to see you. He said it is for business. He insists that you people have a business meeting. Would you like to see him?" The receptionist asked Ekaette.

"What is his name?" Ekaette responded.

"His name is Dr Williams." The receptionist said.

"I don't want to see him. I don't want to ever see him. Anytime he comes around, tell him I'm not around." Ekaette tells the receptionist.

"Well, Ekaette is very busy. I'm afraid you cannot see him." The receptionist tells Dr Williams. He was very angry. He did not accept what the receptionist just told him. He wanted to see Ekaette by hook or by crook.

"But you just spoke to her. I could hear her voice and I'm pretty sure she is in this hotel and she is not busy. Why are you shielding her from me? Why are you trying to stop me from seeing her? Do you know who I'm? Do you know me? I'm Dr Williams and I can see anyone I want to see in this Canada. I just heard her voice speaking to you on the phone and you are still saying she is too busy to see me. Why are you doing this?" Dr Williams asked angrily.

"I'm sorry sir, but if she says she does not want to see you, then I can't let you to go in. I can't allow you into the hotel if Ekaette said she does not want to speak to you. I think she has the right to decide who she wants to see. Besides, she is very busy and she cannot leave her work to come out and see you." The receptionist said.

"Are you mad? I will see her or else, I'm not leaving this place." Dr Williams said. He ran into the hotel and made his way through different sections. He was busy looking for the hotel's kitchen. He knows Ekaette will be in the kitchen. He was looking at the inscriptions on each door of each room he passed. Meanwhile, the receptionist was running after him, telling him to come out from the hotel, but he did not listen to her. He was desperate. He wants to see Ekeatte to talk with her.

"Dr Williams you are behaving violently right now and I may be forced to call the police." The receptionist said. Dr Williams did not listen. After running around the hotel hallways for a long time, he eventually saw the kitchen. He

dashed into the kitchen and started shouting at Ekaette.

"You think you can hide from me right? You think you can stay in this hotel and I will not be able to find you? You think you can come to Canada and scatter my life? You think you can come here and spoil my marriage? I will not allow you to do that. You are going back to Nigeria, I can assure you of that. I will make sure you are deported back to Nigeria if you refuse to go back on your own. I'm a powerful man in Canada." Dr Williams said.

He rushed towards Ekaette and slapped her. That was when serious problem started. Ekaette did not move or say a word even after she was slapped by her husband. She just stayed calm. However all the people who were in the kitchen rushed and caught Dr Williams. They lifted him up like a feather and pinned him to the ground. They dealt with him and held him down. They tied him up with rope and called the police.

"You think you can come into the hotel and beat up our teacher? We love Ekaette because she is a good person. We will protect her from you. If you think you can spoil her success, you better think again. There is nothing you can do to her." One of the cooks said. When the police arrived, Dr Williams was arrested for invading a hotel and attacking the staff.

"He will be charged to court for unlawful entry and assault." The police said. This incident made Dr Williams' situation to become worse.

His Oyinbo wife was so embarrassed when she heard what happened. Dr Williams appeared on television as it was reported in the news that he assaulted a celebrity cook, Ekaette.

"I will divorce this man." The Oyinbo wife said.
