Moving To Italy Episode 13

Uju had temporarily passed out after the bus 'jammed' a tree. It was the tree that saved her and the ladies, because the bus would have summersaulted if it had moved farther into the bush. But when it 'jammed' the tree, it simply stopped and the engine continued to hum.

Uju's brain was hazy and her head was feeling as if someone had given her a hot slap. This was because the bus had shaken her and the ladies terribly before it 'jammed" the tree and stopped. She felt confused and tired when she opened her eyes.

It was already daybreak when she regained consciousness. She saw herself on the steering of the bus, with her head resting on it as if she was sleeping. When she realized where she was and what had happened, she quickly stood up and checked herself to be sure she was not injured. Luckily for Uju, there was no injury on her body.

"All thanks to God. Nothing happening to me despite the accident. Let me check the ladies. I hope all of them are fine." Uju said as she started touching the ladies one after the other. Just like Uju, all of them were terribly shaken by fear which made their hearts to jump into their bellies. But apart from the intense fear which paralyzed them for a few minutes, everyone was fine.

"Everyone, lift your heads let us leave this place. We must leave the bus now! We will come back to it later. Right now, I can hear footsteps coming towards this direction. I can hear Madam Philo's voice. I'm sure she and her boys are looking for us. We have to leave and hide in the bush." Uju tells the ladies. They stood up and followed her out of the bus.

Madam Philo was the only one who survived in her own bus and this was because she was lucky. When the bus summersaulted, she was thrown out from the window after the front door opened. She landed on a thick grass which protected her. But everyone else died and the bus was squeezed beyond recognition.

"I can't give up and allow them to escape. I don't know if they have also died due to the accident. I have to find the bus and confirm that they are also dead just like my boys. I have to make sure they did not leave the bus alive. They must not leave this bush alive. I have to find them and kill them all. If they leave this bush alive, they will go back to Nigeria and expose my profitable business. I don't want this to happen." Madam Philo said in her heart. She stood up from where the bus flung her and started searching around the bush.

The time was past 7 in the morning and the sun had started to shine brightly, but the forest was still a little bit dark due to the shade created by numerous trees. It was when she was moving around the bush looking for Uju and the ladies that she saw her husband. Madam Philo was shocked to see her husband in the thick forest.

"Darling, what are you doing here? Oh my God! Am I dreaming or what?" Madam Philo shouted when she came face to face with her husband. Both of them were holding their guns in ready positions.

It happened that Madam Philo's husband was bringing another set of ladies to her in Benin Republic. She and her husband run the business together. Her husband also helps her to recruit ladies. It happened that her husband was in the bus which was coming from Nigeria. It was the

same bus which Uju dodged and entered the bus. It was his bus that 'jammed" Madam Philo's bus. He had explained what happened to Madam Philo and also told her that all the 10 ladies he was bringing to Benin Republic are still alive.

"All of them are alive. We are all alive but the bus has refused to start. This is why I came into the bush to see if we can carry any of the busses that entered the bush." Madam Philo's husband said.

"My dear, the bus is not even recognisable. And all my boys are dead. I'm lucky to be alive. The last set of ladies I took when I came to Nigeria, they have been giving me a lot of headaches and they were trying to escape back to Nigeria. As I'm talking to you, they are in this bush. They stole one of our buses and were running away with it. Please, you have to help me to look for them. We must not allow them to get to Nigeria, because they are going to expose us." Madam Philo said to her husband.

They started looking for Uju and the ladies. After moving far away into the forest, Madam Philo saw one of the ladies. She had come out from their hideout to ease herself because she was pressed.

"Stay right there. Don't move." Madam Philo shouted at the lady who froze in fear.

"Please don't shoot me. I will show you where they are. Please, don't pull the trigger. I know where all the girls are. I will take you there if you spare my life. Please don't shoot because I don't want to die yet." The lady pleaded with Madam Philo and her husband.

"I will only spare your life if you show me where all of you are hiding. If you try to run, I will finish you. Just take me to Uju. I want to teach her a lesson for trying to outsmart me. I want to teach her that I was doing this business before she was born and she cannot stop me." Madam Philo said to the lady while pointing a gun at her. The lady was shaking due to fear.

"Please follow me, I will show you where Uju is." The lady said. She took Madam Philo and her husband to where all the ladies were hiding.
