Moving To Italy Episode 10

Uju and the five ladies drove out of Madam Philo's hotel with the intention of coming back to Nigeria. However, the big problem was how to find their way back. When they were coming to Benin Republic, the bus followed bush paths and Uju and the ladies were not sure they can still remember exactly how they arrived in the township area. That night, they first of all made sure they travelled far away from Madam Philo's hotel so that she will not be able to find them easily.

"We have to move very far away from this area so that the wicked woman will not find us. We have to drive as far as possible. I'm sure she will want to locate and catch us by the time she wakes up from sleep. We must not allow this to happen. We must not go back to that prison. It is an evil place not good for decent girls. I personally don't want to go back there. I don't know about you guys, but I want to get back to Nigeria as fast as possible." Uju said to the ladies. They all agreed with her that they should return to Nigeria. But the question was how they were going to find their way.

"How are we going to make it to Nigeria? Benin Republic is very close to Nigeria and we will get back home very quickly if we follow the express road. However, we may be arrested by security agencies if we follow the normal road. Also, we don't know if the security agencies know Madam Philo. You know she is a very rich woman. The security people may be working for her. If they see us, they may catch us and return us to the hotel. But if we decide to follow the bush path, how are we going to find our way? We travelled a long way on the day we came to this country such that it could be very difficult to remember all the bush paths we followed. What are we going to do right now?" Uju asked her companions.

Everyone in the bus was quiet and calm as if they were trying to think and bring a solution to the problem at hand. Meanwhile, Uju was driving and speeding as fast as possible on the tarred road which connected Madam Philo's hotel with the major road. When they reached the junction that joined the road to the expressway, Uju stopped and then branched left. She saw a police checkpoint.

"Omo! See police o! Are we going to stop for them? If we stop, they might ask us to identify ourselves. We don't know if they are working for Madam Philo. They may catch us and delay us. I'm not going to stop for them. I'm going to scatter the roadblock and pass." Uju said. She bites her lips with her teeth and held her breath as she matched the car throttle and increased the speed one hundred times. When the policemen saw the speeding bus, they all cleared from the road and Uju scattered the roadblock and passed. All the ladies where holding firmly on their seats as the bus swerved left and right.

"That's it girl! Go! We are behind you! Scatter anything that will take us back to that woman's hotel." The ladies at the back seat chorused as they hailed Uju for her driving prowess.

"We still have a serious problem. We still don't know how to return to Nigeria. There are police checkpoints on the major road and I don't want us to follow the major roads because I feel like Madam Philo works hand in hand with the police people. You know when we were coming, no body stopped us on the road. We passed every police checkpoint without problems. It means the security agencies know Madam Philo. Once they see this vehicle, they will know. I don't want them to catch us. This means we must locate the bush path we followed that day and try our luck. Even though we don't know the road, I believe we should try our luck instead of staying back. The time is 4am. Let us find the bush path before daybreak." Uju said to her companions. All of them were scared but they had no option than to be brave. If they are not brave, they will not be able to escape.

"I think we are approaching the round about where we saw the traffic light that day. The bush path is close to the roundabout. I still remember that place." Uju said.

"Exactly what I wanted to say. We are close to the bush path. It should be by the left. We should be there soon. Because I remember that we did not ride for long after we came out before we got to this roundabout. Let us be watching left." Tina said. Everyone in the bus agreed that they were close to the bush path. However, they were still scared of what would happen to them in the bush. It was a dangerous decision but they reasoned that it was better than staying at Madam Philo's hotel.

"This bus strong o! It does not look neat but it is very fast." Uju said. After they negotiated the roundabout, they moved a distance of about one kilometer before they found the bush path. Uju branched left and they found themselves in a thick forest.

"We move! Let us be courageous! No one should be afraid. We will make it to Nigeria." Uju said. They continued to move deeper and deeper into the bush. As they moved away from the town, the whole atmosphere became darker and scarier. Everywhere in the bush was calm and quiet. The only sound Uju was hearing were that of the bus engine. She was driving as fast as she could.

About 40 kilometers into the bush, the bus engine went off. Uju was surprised because the vehicle did not show any sign of distress. It just went off.

"Wahala! What is the problem? Let us come down and check what happened." Uju said. All the ladies in the vehicle came down. Everywhere was dark, quiet and scary. They used their phone lights to see. Uju opened the burnet of the bus to check if there was a problem. She did not see anything that could have caused the car to stop. She then pulled the carburetor cable and saw that fuel was not dropping again.

"There is no fuel in the bus anymore! And we are far away from the town. We are in in hot okro soup." Uju said to her co-travelers.

"Jesus! What are we going to do?" All the ladies asked in fear. They became stranded in the bush. Before they took the bus and ran away with it, none of them had the time to think about fuel. They just wanted to get away from Madam Philo's hotel.

Meanwhile, back in the hotel, Madam Philo has been informed that Uju and the other ladies have stolen her bus and were attempting to run away.

"They can't go far before we catch them. The bus has a car tracker. Wherever they are, we will locate them and kill them. We must not allow them to get to Nigeria because they will expose us. Bring out the second bus let us pursue them. Also, bring out my laptop and track the bus they are using. Everyone get ready with your guns. We are going after Uju and the ladies. They want to try me, I will show them that I rule this town." Madam Philo said to her boys. Soon, they moved out of the hotel in another bus and started pursuing after Uju and the five ladies.
