Street Fighter Cast: Jason Momoa, Former WWE Champ Eyed for Live-Action Movie
The live-action Street Fighter movie is rounding out its cast.
Kitao Sakurai is working on a live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the popular Capcom video games, for Legendary Entertainment. It was previously reported last month that Snake Eyes’ Andrew Koji and The Recruit’s Noah Centineo were being eyed to play Ryu and Ken in the film.
What is being eyed for the Street Fighter movie cast?
According to Deadline, Jason Momoa and Roman Reigns are also being eyed to star in the film. Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that Reigns will play Akuma, while it’s not yet clear who Momoa is in talks to star as.
Momoa is known for playing Aquaman in the DCEU and for starring as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones. He recently portrayed Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison in A Minecraft Movie and will soon be seen as Lobo in 2026’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Additionally, Momoa plays Duncan Idaho in the Dune franchise and appeared as Dante Reyes in 2023’s Fast X, among other roles.
Roman Reigns, meanwhile, is a former football player and WWE champion. He’s appeared in 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and 2020’s The Wrong Missy, while he also voiced a character in the 2021 animated Rumble film.
Plot details for the live-action Street Fighter movie remain under wraps at this time. Talk to Me and Bring Her Back’s Danny and Michael Philippou were previously attached to direct the film prior to Sakurai’s involvement. Sakurai is best known for directing 2021’s Bad Trip with Eric André and Lil Rel Howery. He also directed episodes of Peacock’s Twisted Metal show with Anthony Mackie, which is returning for its second season this coming July.
A release date for the live-action Street Fighter movie, which is being co-developed and co-produced with Capcom, has not yet been announced by Legendary.
