After successfully acquiring the North American distribution rights to the upcoming movie, GKIDS has officially announced the new Jujutsu Kaisen movie’s US release date. This comes after more than a year since the second season of the hit supernatural action anime had concluded its 23-episode run.

“Before they were enemies, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were high school classmates and friends. The two powerful sorcerers are tasked with protecting Riko Amanai, a student who has been designated to be sacrificed as the Star Plasma Vessel, until she can fulfill her duty. Pursued by a religious cult and other curse users, they are the only sorcerers capable of carrying out such a difficult task – but this mission will set their destinies, and challenge the two sorcerers in ways unimaginable,” reads the official synopsis. “The beloved and deeply emotional ‘Hidden Inventory / Premature Death’ arc from the global phenomenon JUJUTSU KAISEN returns to the big screen, reaching all new heights for fans and newcomers alike.”

When is the Jujutsu Kaisen movie release date?

Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie, both the Japanese and English dubbed versions of the newest compilation film, is now scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters nationwide starting on July 16, 2025. Featuring a newly remixed sound, the movie will center around the younger days of beloved duo Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who shared a deep bond that was tested by one fateful mission.

The original anime series is based on the best-selling manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. It is produced by acclaimed Japanese studios, Toho Animation and MAPPA Studio. After wrapping up Season 2 last December 2023, the show won the Anime of the Year award at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. At the moment, the highly anticipated third season has yet to receive an official release date.
