EPL: Saka is in pain – Arteta gives injury update after 4-0 win over Ipswich
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed Bukayo Saka was left in pain after a nasty tackle in their 4-0 win at Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Arteta, speaking to the media after the game, however, ruled out any chance of a “serious” injury.
Saka spent three months out with a hamstring injury this season, but made his return in time to help fire the Gunners past Real Madrid into the Champions League semi-finals.
At Portman Road, Saka was challenged from behind by Leif Davis, with the Ipswich left-back getting a straight red card.
The England winger was later spotted with his foot wrapped in ice on the Arsenal bench.
“I didn’t see the tackle, it was quite fast,” Arteta said.
“It’s a good decision from the referee. He in a bit of pain but thankfully it doesn’t look anything too serious.”
It remains to be seen if Saka will be fit for Arsenal’s next game against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
They then face Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League semi-final first leg on April 29.
