EPL: He understands modern player – Keys names manager Man Utd should replace Amorim with

Football pundit, Richard Keys has suggested who Manchester United should replace Ruben Amorim with should they decide to part ways with the Portuguese.

Amorim is having a difficult time in the Premier League this season.

He watched as Wolves defeated Man United 1-0 in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.

It was their 15th league defeat of the season leaving the Red Devils in 14th position on the Premier League table with five games remaining.

However, Keys wants Man United to appoint former England head coach Gareth Southgate as Amorim’s replacement at Old Trafford in the near future.

According to him, the Englishman understands modern player well, adding that he is a master of manipulation.

“The question is, would you trust him [Amorim ] now, from what we have seen, to rebuild Manchester United with another £250m?” Keys asked on beIN SPORTS.

“Do you want me to answer the question? Gareth Southgate,” Keys said.

He added: “On the grounds that he’s taken England to two European Championship finals.

“He understands a modern player and what’s required in order to make the modern player feel good about himself, his football team and the club he plays for.

“He is a master of manipulation and motivation.”

Southgate led England to the final of Euro 2024 where they were defeated by Spain.
