The Testaments Cast Finalized for Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale Sequel Show
The Testaments cast has finally been finalized with the addition of nine new cast members, as Hulu officially grants an official series order to the upcoming The Handmaid’s Tale spin-off. They will be joining original series star Ann Dowd, who will reprise her Emmy-winning role as Aunt Lydia.
“For these young women, growing up in Gilead is all they have ever known, having no tangible memories of the outside world prior to their indoctrination into this life,” reads the synopsis. “Facing the prospect of being married off and living a life of servitude, they will be forced to search for allies, both new and old, to help in their fight for freedom and the life they deserve.”
Who is in The Testaments cast?
Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, and Mabel Li have been tapped to play the series regular roles of Paula, Garth, and Aunt Vidala, respectively. Besides them, Hulu has also enlisted Zarrin Darnell-Martin as Aunt Gabbana, Eva Foote as Aunt Estee, Isolde Ardies as Hulda, Shechinah Mpumlwana as Jehosheba, Birva Pandya as Miriam, and Kira Guloien as Rosa.
Listed below are the full character descriptions for the new series regulars:
Seimetz’s Paula is the hard-shelled homemaker and fearsome stepmother to Agnes, who was originally named as Hannah in The Handmaid’s Tale.
Alexander’s Garth is a young Commander who becomes involved in the personal lives of the girls he’s sworn to protect.
Li’s Aunt Vidala – is the stern heir-apparent to the women’s sphere of Gilead.
Based on Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel, The Testaments comes from creator and showrunner Bruce Miller. In addition to Dowd, the series will also be led by Mattea Conforti as Becka, Chase Infiniti as Agnes, Lucy Halliday as Daisy, and Rowan Blanchard as Shunammite. Miller also serves as an executive producer on the series, which comes from MGM Television, alongside Warren Littlefield of The Littlefield Company.
