“I Started Going To Studio At Age 14”- Mochedah
In a recent episode of the TeamwithTaypod podcast, female rapper Mocheddah looked back on her beginnings in the music scene.
She shared happy memories of working in the studio with well-known Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Ice Prince.
Mocheddah shared that she started visiting music studios when she was just 14 years old, often going with Wizkid to studios in Ojuelegba.
She recalled watching and learning from experienced musicians and producers, like the late OJB Jezreel.
The rapper shared that her parents were worried at first, but later they backed her love for music.
Her mom frequently took her to the studio, and she had a curfew to keep her safe.
She said:
“I became a studio rat at 14. Wizkid and I would go to studios in Ojuelegba together. We’d watch and learn from veteran musicians and producers. My mom would take me to studios and I had a curfew. Later, I became friends with Wizkid and Ice Prince, and we’d go to studios together. We didn’t record, we just watched and got inspired.”
