Citadel: Diana Trailer Unveils New Look at Prime Video’s New Spyverse Series

Prime Video has finally released the full Citadel: Diana trailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ latest installment to its expanding Spyverse series, which will be led by Matilda De Angelis as the titular spy. The Italian spin-off is also being executive produced by Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo.

What happens in the Citadel: Diana trailer?

The official trailer unveils a closer look at the Italian spin-off, which will follow the story of Agent Diana Cavalieri who goes undercover in hopes of finding the ones responsible for her parents’ death. All six episodes will start streaming on October 10, 2024, exclusively on Prime Video. Besides the Italian spin-off, Amazon is also releasing an Indian spin-off of Citadel titled, Honey Bunny, on November 7.

Citadel: Diana also stars Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz, and Filippo Nigro. The Italian spin-off is executive produced by showrunner Gina Gardini, with Arnaldo Catinari as the director and Alessandro Fabbri as the head writer. Executive producers are Riccardo Tozzi, Marco Chimenz, Giovanni Stabilini, and Emanuele Savoini, along with Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Ostot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil. It hails from Cattleya and Midnight Radio.

“Milan, 2030: Eight years ago, the independent global spy agency Citadel was destroyed by the powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore,” reads the official logline. “Since then, Diana Cavalieri, an undercover Citadel agent, is alone, trapped behind enemy lines as a mole in Manticore. When she finally sees a way out and the chance to disappear forever, the only way to do so is trusting the most unexpected ally, Edo Zani, the heir of Manticore Italy and son of the head of the Italian organization, Ettore Zani, who’s vying for leadership against the other European families.”

Citadel is a global spy thriller that will be told through multiple shows taking place in the United States, Italy, India, and Mexico, with each version told in the country’s local language. Each Citadel show is also locally created, produced, and filmed in-region, and stars top talent, forming a distinct global franchise.
