How Gunmen Raided Adamawa Community On Christmas Day, Killed Two Residents
The Nigerian police have affirmed the death of two individuals on Christmas night, resulting from an assault by armed assailants on a community in Adamawa State, located in North-East Nigeria.
The police also confirmed that two other persons sustained gunshot wounds during the attack on Kwapre village in the Hong Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje who confirmed the attack said the command had launched an investigation into the incident to unravel the identity of the attackers.
Some residents of the area told SaharaReporters that the attackers stormed the village on motorcycles around 8pm, shooting sporadically. "The village and its adjoining communities were sacked as we scampered to safety.
"They also carted away food items and other valuables", a resident added.
"Necessary measures have been put in place to arrest the perpetrators. We asked the people not to panic but give useful information on the identity of those behind the attack", the police spokesperson, Nguroje said.
