Heart Eyes Teaser Trailer: Josh Ruben Directs Valentine’s Day Horror Movie

Sony Entertainment Pictures has released the first Heart Eyes teaser trailer, previewing the upcoming Valentine’s Day horror.

What happens in the Heart Eyes teaser trailer?

The Heart Eyes trailer follows a town that has been plagued by the “Heart Eyes killer,” a person who stalks romantic couples, for several years. Nothing much is shown in the trailer in the way of story, but we do get a look at the Heart Eyes killer, a mysterious figure who wears a mask equipped with light-up heart eyes.

Heart Eyes is currently set to release on February 7, 2025, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The movie is directed by Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within) from a script written by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy. The movie stars Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, Gigi Zumbado, Michaela Watkins, Devin Sawa, and Jordana Brewster.

Both Landon and Kennedy are no strangers to the world of horror, with Landon having written and directed the Happy Death Day franchises, as well as 2020’s Freaky. Kennedy wrote and produced the 2023 horror comedy film It’s a Wonderful Knife, which acted as a horror spin on the classic 1946 Christmas film It’s a Wonderful Life.

Holt and Gooding are also mainstays in the world of horror, with Holt having recently starred in the 2023 time travel horror movie Totally Killer. Gooding has appeared in both of the new Scream films, as well as in the upcoming disaster comedy horror movie Y2K from A24.

“For the past several years, the ‘Heart Eyes Killer’ has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe,” reads the official synopsis for the movie.
