Gannibal Trailer Previews Disney+'s Japanese Horror Thriller Series
Disney+ has dropped the official trailer for Gannibal, the upcoming Japanese horror thriller based on Masaaki Ninomiya’s bestselling manga of the same name. The series will be available for streaming on December 28.
“Gannibal is a thriller that will leave audiences gasping with shock after every episode,” producer Teruhisa Yamamoto said in a statement. “But it’s also a human story that reflects upon the differences between family values and culture that, at a glance, seem so contradictory and yet are so relatable. With Gannibal and our other Japanese local content, we are building on Disney’s rich history of storytelling and are combining it with Japanese creativity to open new doors of entertainment for everyone.”
Gannibal is directed by Shinzo Katayama from a screenplay written by Takamasa Oe. The adaptation will be led by Yuya Yagira, Shô Kasamatsu, and Riho Yoshioka.

Thrown into a hostile environment with suspense around every corner, will the latest police officer to roam the streets of Kuge village be able to bring those responsible to justice before it’s too late?”
Gannibal is produced by Teruhisa Yamamoto, Akihisa Yamamoto, and Tatsuya Iwakura. The project was recently unveiled at Disney’s recent APAC content showcase.
