The Billionaire’s Missing Son, Episode 3

After their mother spoke to them that evening, Ben and Jonathan took her words very seriously. They knew that if they did not find Kelvin, their suffering would continue. They did not waste time. The next morning, they started making plans on how to find him.

“Mother, we will not rest until we find Kelvin. We will search everywhere. We will go from one place to another if we have to. We will ask questions. We will involve the media. We will do everything possible. This is no longer something we can ignore because our survival now depends on it. If we don’t find him, we will continue to suffer. But if we find him, all our problems will be solved immediately,” Ben said.

Jonathan agreed with his brother and added his own words. “You are right. We have wasted too much time already. We were stubborn before, but now we have no choice. This Kelvin must be found. I don’t care where he is or what he is doing. We will search for him until we see him face to face. Once we find him, we will take what belongs to us and restore everything our father left behind.”

Madam Ginika listened to her children and nodded slowly. “Please, do everything you can. I cannot continue like this. I have never suffered like this in my life. When your father was alive, everything was available. Now, we cannot even feed properly. Please, find Kelvin and bring him to me.”

That same week, they began their search in full force. They went to different radio stations and paid for announcements.

“Attention everyone, we are looking for a young man named Kelvin. He is very important to our family. Anyone who has information about him should come forward. There will be a reward for anyone who helps us find him,” the announcer said on the radio.

They also went to newspaper companies and placed adverts.

“A young man named Kelvin is wanted urgently. He is needed by his family. Whoever knows his whereabouts should report immediately. A huge reward awaits anyone with useful information,” the newspaper publication read.

They did not stop there. They went on television and made public announcements.

“My name is Ben, and this is my brother Jonathan. We are looking for our elder brother named Kelvin. We have never met him before, but we were told by our late father that he exists. Please, if you know him or have seen him anywhere, help us find him. We are ready to reward anyone who can help us,” Ben said during a television interview.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but there was no sign of Kelvin. No one came forward with useful information. Every lead they followed ended in disappointment.

Each time the phone rang, they would rush to answer it, hoping it was someone with information about Kelvin, but it was always nothing useful. Slowly, they started losing hope.

“We have tried everything. We have gone to radio stations, newspapers, and television. We have spent the little money we had left. Yet, we have not found anything. It is like this Kelvin does not want to be found,” Jonathan said one evening.

Ben was frustrated. “I don’t understand. How can someone just disappear like that? It is like he is hiding from us on purpose. We are suffering here, and he is nowhere to be found. How are we supposed to survive like this?”

Their situation kept getting worse every day. The money they had was completely finished. They could no longer maintain the lifestyle they were used to.

One morning, Madam Ginika gathered her children and spoke to them.

“We cannot continue wasting money on fuel. From today, all the cars in this compound will be parked. No one will drive any car again because we cannot afford to buy fuel. We will manage ourselves the way we are. This is the situation we have found ourselves in,” she said.

That was how all the cars in the mansion were parked. The compound that used to be filled with movement became quiet. The expensive cars were just there, unused.

Soon, things became even worse. Food became a serious problem.

“Mother, there is no food in the house. What are we going to eat?” Jonathan asked one afternoon.

Madam Ginika looked at him with a tired face. “We will manage whatever we can find. Things are not the same anymore. We have to endure this for now.”

Ben shook his head slowly.

“This is unbelievable. We used to have everything. Now, we are struggling to eat. All because we cannot find one person.”

Days passed, and the suffering continued. The once wealthy family had now become a shadow of themselves. Their clothes were no longer new. Their movements were reduced. Their voices were no longer filled with pride.

All this while, Kelvin was watching everything.

He was still in the house. He was still driving Madam Ginika around whenever she needed to go out. He saw their suffering. He heard their conversations. He knew how bad things had become.

One evening, Kelvin sat quietly in the house and thought deeply.

“I have watched them suffer for a long time now. I have seen their pride come down. I have seen their strength fail. I have seen them struggle for food. This is not easy for me to watch, but I had to obey my father’s instruction. He told me not to reveal myself until they have truly felt the weight of life without his wealth. Now, I believe that time has come,” Kelvin said in his heart.

He remained silent for a while, thinking about everything.

“They have tried to find me, but they could not. They have spent money they don’t have. They have humbled themselves. They are now ready. If I continue to hide, their suffering will only increase. That is not what my father wanted. He wanted them to learn, not to be destroyed.”

Kelvin took a deep breath and made up his mind.

“Tomorrow, I will call a meeting in this house. I will gather Madam Ginika, Ben, and Jonathan. I will tell them who I am. I will reveal everything to them and put an end to this suffering. It is time.”

“Tomorrow, everything will change,” Kelvin said in his heart.
