Revenge Mission — Episode Nine

Purity was alone in her small room at the Dankwa mansion. She thought of the children who were playing in the hotel room, waiting for her return. For weeks she had promised herself that she would destroy the entire Dankwa family. But now, her heart was divided. She had come too close to the boys. Their innocent eyes and sweet voices kept disturbing her spirit. “Why should I kill them? They did nothing wrong,” she whispered. She placed her hand on her chest and sighed deeply. For the first time, Purity felt her revenge plan beginning to change direction.

The following morning, she prepared breakfast quietly while her mind was far away. Madam Rita noticed her silence and asked, “Purity, is everything alright?”

“Yes, Madam, I am fine.” But inside her heart, she was fighting. She wanted to continue her revenge, but something told her it was enough. She remembered how Nancy died from the poison. She remembered the cries of her mother begging for mercy. A tear rolled down her cheek, and she quickly wiped it. She asked herself if she was becoming weak, but another voice whispered, “No, you are becoming human again.”

That evening, Purity sneaked out of the mansion and went to the hotel. The boys ran to her as usual, shouting, “Aunty Purity, you came again!” She hugged them tightly, holding them longer than before. They laughed and showed her the toy car she had bought for them. Purity watched them closely and thought, "How can I kill such innocent souls?" Her heart broke, and she knew she could not continue with her evil plan. She sat on the bed with them, her eyes wet with tears, and whispered to herself, “No, I will not kill them. They deserve to live.”

Days passed, and Purity grew restless. She could no longer hide the children forever. She thought about what to do. Finally, she decided to face Daniel and Madam Rita. She told herself that it was time to end the game. She would not kill them. Instead, she would return their children. But she also wanted them to know that she was the one behind everything. “They must see the pain I carried all these years,” she said softly. Her decision gave her peace. She smiled at the children and promised, “Very soon, you will see Mama and Papa again.”

One Sunday afternoon, Purity walked into the sitting room where Dankwa and his wife sat quietly. Their faces were drawn with grief and worry. Madam Rita was holding a Bible, praying softly. Dankwa looked tired, his eyes swollen from sleepless nights. Purity stood before them and said, “Sir, Madam, I have something important to tell you.” They raised their heads slowly, surprised by her serious tone. “What is it, Purity?” Dankwa asked in a weak voice. Purity’s lips trembled, but she gathered courage. “I know where your missing children are,” she said slowly. The words hung in the air like thunder.

Madam Rita dropped her Bible in shock. “What did you just say?” she asked, her voice shaking. “Yes, Madam,” Purity repeated. “I know where your children are.” Dankwa stood up quickly.

“Purity, are you serious? Do you know where they are?” His eyes burned into hers, searching for lies. Purity nodded calmly. “Yes, sir. I know where they are, and I can take you to them.” Tears ran down Madam Rita’s face immediately. She held her husband’s arm and cried, “Oh God, is this true? Please let this be true.” Purity looked at them without flinching.

Dankwa wasted no time. He grabbed his car keys and said, “Take us there now!” Madam Rita quickly wrapped her scarf and followed. They rushed out of the mansion, with Purity leading the way. The drive to Tamale town was silent. Only the sound of the car engine filled the air. Madam Rita kept whispering prayers, “God, please, let my children be alive. God, please.” Purity sat quietly in the front seat, staring straight ahead. She knew the moment of truth had finally come. She was about to end her long mission.

The car stopped in front of the small hotel. Purity stepped out first and walked toward the door. Dankwa and Madam Rita followed her closely, their hearts pounding with fear and hope. She climbed the stairs and stopped at the room where the boys had been kept for weeks. She turned the key.

She pushed the door open. Inside, the children sat on the bed, playing with their toys. The moment they saw their parents, they jumped up with joy. “Mama! Papa!” they shouted, running into their arms. Tears of relief flowed freely in the room.

Madam Rita collapsed on the floor, hugging her sons tightly. She wept uncontrollably, ki.ssing their faces again and again. “My children! My children! You are alive!” she cried loudly. Dankwa held the boys in his arms. He kept thanking God, saying, “Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!” The children laughed, happy to be reunited with their parents. The room was filled with both tears and joy. Purity stood by the door, watching the scene quietly. For the first time, she saw them as a family. She felt a strange peace filling her wounded heart.

After some minutes, Dankwa turned to Purity, his eyes still wet with tears. “Purity,” he said in a broken voice, “how… how did you find them?” Madam Rita also looked at her, waiting for an answer. Purity stepped forward slowly. She looked at the family she had caused so much pain, and her voice trembled as she spoke.

"I was the one who kidnapped them."
