Mother-in-law..

About Story:
I was still very happy after my wedding. My name is Linda, and I just got married to Ajulu, the man of my dreams. At least, that was what I thought. We had a very small wedding, but I was content. I believed marriage would bring me peace, joy, and happiness. But I was wrong. From the first day I stepped into my husband’s family house, my mother-in-law started treating me like an enemy. She did not even allow me to rest. She gave me work to do immediately I entered the house as if I was her maid.
On that first day, she asked me to go to the backyard and fetch water from the tank. I thought she was joking. I looked at her face, but she was serious. “My daughter, as you have entered this house, you must work hard. I don’t want lazy women here,” she said with a frown. I obeyed quietly. I carried water into the kitchen, swept the floor, and washed the plates she pointed at. I told myself it was just stress from wedding day, and maybe she was testing me. But I did not know that was just the beginning.
