The Strong Reverend Father, Episode 8
Brenda dropped her phone after calling the police. She felt great. She felt as if she has accomplished something really important. Brenda is happy that Father Emmanuel would soon be in serious trouble. The police were already heading to Father Emmanuel’s office and they will discover the kokain as soon as they get there. If the police ends up finding the kokain where Brenda kept it in the office, then this would mean Emmanuel might automatically be arrested or invited for questioning by the police. This is a serious issue because it would not be good for people to hear that a reverend father was arrested because he was dealing in kokain. Brenda knows what she is doing and she is happy to cause trouble for the newly ordained Catholic priest..
“Once the police discover the kokain, Emmanuel will be in deep soup. I wanted peace but he did not want peace. I will teach him a lesson he will never forget. When I finish dealing with him, he will come back to beg me but that time, I will be too late already. It will be too late for me to accept him as my boyfriend. It will be too late because he will be in join. He thinks he can leave me and become a priest. That’s not happening,” Brenda said in her mind while still resting at the hotel.
About 30 minutes later, the police started driving to the Catholic parish where Brenda told them. They drove with speed and were bent on seeing the reverend father who is dealing in kokain. If they are able to arrest him, it will become a viral news and the police will claim that they worked hard to catch him. This would be a big moment for the police and their image. So, the drove to the church with speed and enthusiasm.
Once they got there, they drove into the church premises and packed front of the main building. At the time they got there, the thanksgiving mass was over and most people have already left the church. Reverend father Emmanuel was also in his office. He got there only to discover that Brenda has escaped through the window.
“She successfully escaped. She should never return to my office again. I don’t ever want to see even her shadow. She is a very bad person and I have left her for good. Nothing will make me to go back to Brenda. I have abandoned sin. I’m now a man of God. I’m a servant of God and I’m not ready to submit myself to Brenda. None of her sinful tricks can work on me because I have overcome the world a long time ago. If I ever see her here again, I will call the police to arrest her,” Father Emmanuel said in his heart after he opened the office and didn’t see Brenda.
“I’m so hungry after the thanksgiving mass. I’m grateful to God that everything went well. It’s time for me to look for something to eat,” Father Emmanuel said to himself as he opened his fridge and brought out a bottle of cold soft drink. He opened the bottle and started drinking. He was happy that the mass went well and he was ready to go home and rest. However, as he was drinking the soft drink, he heard a knock on the door of the office.
“This is the police, please, open this door now. We have a warrant to search this office because we got an information that you deal in kokain. We want to confirm if what the person said is true,” the leader of the police officers said from outside the office.
“I’m coming to open up sir. I have nothing to hide. I don’t deal in kokain and I’m sure the person who sent you the information lied to you. Just hold on, I’m coming to open the door for you to search the office anyhow you want. I’m a reverend father and a law abiding citizen,” Father Emmanuel said. He quickly opened the door and the police men entered the office.
Emmanuel was confident that nothing bad would be found in his office. He was sure the police came to a wrong address. He knew that someone may have tried to frame him but he was confident that the framing would fail.
“Please, search everywhere you want. I can even take you to my house to search. It is true that I used to be a criminal, but ever since repented, I have never gone back to do bad things. I don’t have kokain and I don’t deal in it. Please, go ahead and search,” Emmanuel tells the police officers who were already searching his office. Emmanuel did not know that Brenda planted kokain in his drawer. Within a few minutes, one of the police men found the kokain in his drawer where Brenda kept it.
“This is the kokain. We found it. You are telling lies that you don’t deal in kokain but here it is in your office. You sell kokain while claiming to be a reverend father. You are under arrest. You are following us to the police station where you will be charged to court,” the police said.
“I have no idea who kept that parcel in my office. I don’t know how it got here. I’m innocent. Someone is trying to frame me and make me go to jail,” Emmanuel said. He was surprised when the police showed him the kokain. He quickly realised that Brenda kept it.
“Well, we found the kokain in your office. This is a strong evidence. You have to follow us,” the police said.
“I have evidence to prove my innocence,” Father Emmanuel said.
“My office has CCTV. Earlier today, someone who does not like me visited me. I used to work with the person when I was in the streets. I strongly believe that the person planted this kokain in my office to implicate me. Please, let me play the CCTV video for you. The camera is small and hidden. It is possible that the person had no idea that my office has CCTV. Please, come and I watch. If after watching this video and you did not see the person putting the kokain in my drawer, then I will submt myself for arrest,” Emmanuel said. He quickly opened another part of his office with a hidden computer monitor. The police saw that truly, everything in the office was being monitored by a CCTV.
“Play the video from today’s morning, let us see,” the police said. Emmanuel played the video. Immediately he started, the leader of the police officers recognised Brenda’s face.
“This lady is on our wanted list. Her photo has been sent to all the police units in the country and there is an order to arrest her wherever she is seen. She is a hardened thief and d’rug dealer. Well, we can now see that you are innocent. We are sorry for coming to disturb you. Our latest mission is to arrest Brenda since she is in this city. She must not escape,” the police said as the left to chase after Brenda.
