The Twin Pregnancy Episode 16

Nene's aunt, Ebere, for that was her name started her plan on how to thwart Nene and Fredo's wedding preparations. At first, she did not know what to do or which direction to follow to achieve her aim, but as the wedding day drew closer and closer, she began to brainstorm more on what to do.

"I'm going to visit Nene and apologize to her for throwing her out of my house when she was pregnant. I'm sure she will forgive me and then welcome me to once again be part of her family. I can now warm my way into her heart and gain her confidence and trust. This will allow me to have access to her wedding plans. If I have access to the details, I will be able to spoil it for her. She thinks she can make it and be happy while I'm still alive? It will not happen. I will not allow it." Ebere said. She prepared her bags and took a cab to Nene's shop.

"Where is your madam? I'm her aunt and I want to see her. I have come to help her prepare for her wedding which is coming up soon." Nene's aunt said to Ike, the shop apprentice looking after Nene's business.

"My madam is at home. She no longer comes to the shop regularly because she is looking after her babies. But I can show you her house." Ike said. He sent someone to take Ebere to Nene's house which was not too far from the shop. Nene was surprised when she saw her aunt. Despite all that happened between them, Nene still had a lot of regard for Ebere and was infact planning to go and visit her so as to personally give her an invitation card to the wedding.

"It was as if you knew I was thinking about you. I was planning to visit you so that I can inform you about my coming wedding. You were the one who looked after me when I was a child. You cared for me and even made efforts to educate me by putting me in a school. I'm so grateful to you. I actually owe my success story to you in a way you may not understand." Nene tells her aunt.

"No Nene, I was coming here to beg you for forgiveness. I was the one who offended you. Remember I chased you away from my house when you needed me the most. I didn't show you compassion. I was wrong. I was focusing only on the fact that you got pregnant while living under my roof. I failed to see things differently. I failed to realize that the future can be bright even for someone who got pregnant out of wedlock. I have come to ask you to forgive me. I mistreated you Nene. Please, don't count it against me. When I heard that you have given birth, I said I would come to see you, but I have been ashamed to come all these while. Today, I finally summoned the courage. Please, forgive me." Nene's aunt said. She was trying to kneel down but Nene helped her up.

"Aunty you are making me feel emotional. Please stop it. I don't blame you for chasing me out of your house. If I were in your shoes, I would have probably done the same thing. We are all humans and we react to things based on our human weaknesses. Please, stand up. We are still one family." Nene said as she invited her aunt into the house to greet her mother and to carry the babies.

"I feel so honoured and happy to hold these babies. I'm so glad you had the courage to keep the pregnancy. Look now, you are a mother of four babies. You are blessed among women Nene. Ebere said as she stood beside the bed and admired the children.

"You can say that again. Please aunty, I have a request. I need your help. My wedding is coming up next week. Looking after these babies and preparing for wedding is a difficult task. Please can you stay here until after the wedding? Please, stay around and help me and my mother with some chores in the house, I beg you." Nene said pleadingly.

"Is that why you are begging? You don't have to beg me. Didn't you see my bag when I came in? I knew I was going to stay here for two weeks, so I came prepared. Don't worry yourself. I will stay and do whatever I can to help you. We are family." Nene's aunt said excitedly.

At that moment, Fredo, Nene's fiancee walked into the room. After exchange of pleasantries, Fredo said he was hungry and that he had bought some raw corns he saw on his way to Nene's house.

"I love boiled corn. I stopped my driver and made sure we bought a lot of the corn, but the problem is that they are still raw. Please can you help me to boil them?" Fredo asked. Before Nene could answer, her aunt had already collected the bag of corn from Fredo's driver.

"Don't worry, I will attend to it immediately." Nene's aunt said as she rushed into the kitchen to start boiling the corn.

"This is the perfect opportunity for me to execute my plans. I didn't know it would be so easy. I was thinking it will be a difficult thing that would take me many days to plan. I never knew I will get the chance to do what I want immediately I arrive this place. Nene, get ready for me, because you are about to lose your fiance. I told you I cannot be alive and allow you to be happy. I'm boiling the corn and when I'm done, I will serve it to your fiancee. It will be his last meal on earth. Where's that my poison?" Ebere said as she removed the poison from her handbag. She had bought it a few days before.

She started boiling the corn and waited patiently until it was done. She put off the gas cooker and carefully served the corn in a tray. She then mixed the poison and rubbed it on all the corn on the tray.

"The time has arrived Fredo. Let me see how you will live and marry Nene." Ebere said as she until it was done. She put off the gas cooker and carefully served the corn in a tray. She then mixed the poison and rubbed it on all the corn on the tray.
