The Landlady Episode Ten

After Eze had the car accident, he became unconscious. Those in the area rushed him to the hospital. He was taken to the same hospital where his son, Uche was earlier kept, the same hospital where his wife Ada has been bribing the doctor to work against him.

He was rushed to the emergency unit and the doctor was called. When he saw that the accident victim was Eze, he slowed down. He decided not to attend to him with the speed and urgency the situation deserves.

"You have been delivered into my hands. I don't think you will leave this place alive." The doctor said as he went outside. He brought out his phone and called Ada.

"Your husband had an accident. He is unconscious. I think it's time for us to finish the Job. Come to the hospital immediately and see things for yourself. Your enemy has been delivered to you on a platter of gold." The doctor said over the phone.

"I'm on my way. I'm coming right away so we can finish the job. Today is the day I have been waiting for. He has finally been delivered into my hands. Is there a way you can revive him? I want him to be conscious and hear me out when I ask him questions before finishing him off. I want him to be alive and and answer my questions. Please, do everything possible to revive him. And please, revive him secretly so that people won't know that he is still alive. When we finish, you can tell people he was already dead before he was brought to the hospital." Ada said.

"Alright! Consider it done." The doctor said as he rushed back inside. He told the nurses on duty to leave the emergency room so he can figure out what was wrong with Eze. When the nurses left, he managed to revive him. Eze could hear the doctor, but was not talking yet.

Not long after Eze was revived, Ada arrived at the hospital. She came to meet the doctor at the emergency unit.

"Can he hear me now?" Ada asked the doctor.

"Of course, he can hear you." The doctor replied and nodded his head.

"Eze my love. I'm here to finish the job I started. I'm here for full revenge. I want to retaliate for the pains you have coursed me over the years. I know I said I have forgiven you, but I lied. There was no way I was going to forgive you just like that after you made me to lose my womb. I can never forgive you for making me lose my baby and subsequently unable to carry my own children. I have worked hard to make money so that I would be able to carry out this revenge and also afford whatever want without depending on you." Ada said. She paused a little and asked the doctor to fix a drip bag on Eze's body so that she can use it to inject poison into his body. The doctor did as she said.

"I know the police must have told you I was the one who invited armed robbers into our house. Well, they did not lie. I did it. There are other things I did also. I was the one who kidnapped Uche. And you know what? The N60 million you paid as ransom is sitting pretty in my account." Ada said. Eze was hearing everything Ada was saying. He could not reply, but her words were hitting him like shrapnels. Tears were rolling down his eyes.

"You are sad? Why are crying? Stop crying my love. If you are sad, what should I do? What about me that you beat and I lost my womb? How long should I be sad? Do you know what it means not to be able to carry my own children because my husband caused it? Well, I'm now here to teach you the final lesson so that in your next life, you will not mistreat a woman." Ada said. She reached for her handbag and brought out the poison which was already inside a needle. She paced around the floor and got ready to inject it into the drip bag so that it would enter Eze's body.

"Like I said, I have been the one responsible for all the bad things that have happened to you. Uche was never sick. I was the one who kept him in that condition just so that you will be spending money on hospital bills. The house you lived in, I'm the owner and I also ordered that you should be evicted. I'm the landlady of the place you lived, and I was the one who bought your former house. I also bought the shares you sold. Everything now belongs to me. "Ada said sarcastically. The tears dripping down from Eze's eyes had increased.

"Today is the best day of my life. It gives me utmost satisfaction to carry out this revenge." Ada said as she injected the poison into the drip bag. It changed the color of the liquid in the bag and everything became brownish. It was a matter of time before it would sip into Eze's body and kill him.

Meanwhile, Uche had gone to the police station and informed them of everything Ada had done. Already, the police were hunting for Ada, so they were happy when Uche told them she was seen at the hospital. Police men were dispatched to the hospital to get her arrested.

However, before they arrived at the hospital, Ada had left the place. Eze was already leaving the world because the poison had entered his body. Uche rushed to hold him, but he could barely move. Not long after the police arrived, Eze died. Uche was heartbroken.

The police arrested the doctor at the hospital, but that was not enough for Uche.

"Wherever she goes, I will hunt her down myself. She cannot do all these evil and go scot-free. Ada, you will hear from me." Uche said in tears.
