The Bad Boy I Met On Christmas Eve - S01 E14
Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 14
The last thing I needed was for anyone to disrupt my alone time. But that's exactly what my family did.

"Hey honey, you okay? Dinner's ready," dad's clear voice resounded through my room.
I hadn't realised how long I had been alone, caught up with my lonely thoughts.
Though sometimes, that's all I need.
"I'm not hungry," I stated, turning away.
Dad opened the door a little wider and slipped in. "Care to talk?" he asked, sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Zachary cheated on me. I showed Francesca who's boss this morning."
"Well, it's great to see you sticking up for yourself. And, I know it's not easy, but it is rather obvious that Zachary isn't that good, don't you think?"
"Guess so..."
"Dalanie."
I looked up into my dad's eyes. When my dad calls me by my full name and doesn't continue talking, it means he wants to talk to me. And most of the time, it's serious business.
"Yeah, dad?"
My dad pulled me in for a hug and as we pulled away, he said, "Let me tell you something that neither your mum nor your sister knows."
Wow, that's new.
"Back when I was in high school just like you, I dated one of the school's most popular girls for two months. I still remember her name till this day, actually."
"You? Dated one of the school's most popular girls?" I couldn't help but laugh.
"Hey," he nudged me a little. "I was very handsome when I was younger, okay? Part of the 'in' crowd."
"Yeah yeah. Go on," I smiled.
Maybe I shouldn't be too skeptical about dad being a popular guy. Though he was from an upper-middle class family, he had a great personality, a well-carved body and a smart mind. His looks were also pretty great - a head of stylish (yep, even until now) golden hair, nice light blue eyes, and a sharp nose.
As I was saying," he cut my thoughts short. "We dated for two months. But on our third month-sary, instead of going out with me for our date, she slept with another guy!!"
"Ouch..." I covered my mouth in shock. Dad's been through the same thing like I did before?!
"It hurt," he hung his head dejectedly. "It wasn't easy. Especially since I loved her."
"So... what did you do?"
Dad swallowed. "What could I do?"
"Punch that cheater and that guy. Duh!" I pushed up my sleeves.
Dad chuckled and pulled them down for me. "Honestly, I did want to. But... it wouldn't change anything now would it?"
"I guess not," I sighed, leaning back into my soft pillows.
"So get over it," dad said, a little too harshly.
"I'll try, alright? I'll try."
He nodded and pat my knee. "Come down for dinner soon, yeah?"

I've decided to skip school today. The usual mood and motivation that I have to study is gone without a trace.
In replacement, I'm gonna take a trip down to the amusement park.
Alone, yup.
"You really should go to school, Dal. You can't be like this forever," mum frowned, worried.
"It's not forever. It's just today," I replied. "Besides, we aren't gonna do much today at school."
"Suit yourself," she sighed and walked out the door to send Lilith to school.
Grabbing my phone, I started playing some music.
"Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days~"
I hit the pause button. Music isn't doing me any good. Finally getting out of bed, I skipped to my closet to take out a black and white letterman jacket and a Levi's dark green denim skinny jeans.
Topping my outfit off with a dark purple snapback and black Converse high tops, I grabbed my wallet, phone, keys, and ran out the door.
To the amusement park!

"A ticket please," I told the middle-aged ticketing officer.
"Actually, make that two," a voice came from behind me.
I turned around and mused. "Alex! What are you doing here?"
"Shouldn't you two be at school?" the man asked, cutting off our interaction time.
"Do we care?" Alex glared and flipped his bangs, revealing a small black star by the side of his eye.
"Listen up, young man. I won't allow you and your friend entry because you should be at school or else, I'll call your parents and tell them you're here," he growled.
"Listen up, old man," Alex started. The man grunted with obvious displeasure, but did not say anything. "You will allow me and my friend entry because we want to be here. If you don't let us in, we'll get your boss."
The ticketing officer snickered. "How? You don't have his number."
I decided to join in. That sass gotta make it's way in at some point, eh?
"Similarly," I said, daringly taking a step forth. "You don't have our parents' number."
"Ugh, stupid kids these days," the man rolled his eyes, then cursed in Spanish while handing us two tickets.
"Thank you," I said and grabbed them quickly before he could do anything.
Alex and I made our way to the entrance and as we walked in, I asked him how he knew I was here.
"I went to your place to pick you up for school, but your mum was just coming out and she said that you'd be coming here, so I thought I'd come here first and wait for you. Ya know, give you a surprise," he said coolly.
"Oh. At least you should have picked me up."
"But there'd be no surprise."

"Oh whatever," I laughed. "Well now that we're here, which ride should we go on?"
"Hmm... How about that?" Alex suggested, pointing to a huge roller coaster.
"Oh heavens, no..." I shrank into myself.
"No backing out. You're here with The Alex, you'll stick with The Alex," he winked.
"I'm already not feeling so good..." I muttered under my breath.

"Alright kids, let me make sure you all are safe enough," the lady attendant smiled, checking everything.
"Can we go now?!" Alex shrieked excitedly.
"Yup! Definitely," she replied. "Enjoy!"
The moment she said that last word, the lever was pulled and the coaster started traveling.
"Crap," I breathed shakily, gripping the metal handle at my chest level desperately.
"There, there," Alex looked relax. He patted my hand and his voice was so soothing, I almost forgot that we were going up on a roller coaster for a while.
Then out of the blue, he raised up his hands and screamed, "WOOOOOOOO!!!"
The coaster tilted 90 degrees before plunging straight down! There was the heart-drop feeling that I hate so much! Here it is! Again!
Everything happened so fast, I couldn't comprehend what was going on. There wasn't even time to scream!
The ride, after reaching the bottom, didn't slow down. I had no time to think again before we were going up, but this time up a loop!
"THIS IS AWESOME!!!" screamed Alex.
"Uh wuh wuh wuh wuh uh uh!"
I could only tremble with fear as the coaster did its 360 degree turn with me hanging upside down, about to puke.
The loop was finally over but there came a few 360 twists and turns. I felt myself getting really horrible on the inside and out.
My head seemed to keep spinning endlessly, and as the coaster did another twist, I felt my arms drop and dangle freely with the whole world going black.

"Werp," I could faintly hear someone say.
"Wayerp," another voice continued.
"Wakerp," my shoulder was constantly being shaken.
"Wake up," the two voices said with me final being able to hear and understand them.
My eye lids fluttered a little, sunlight streaming into my eyes. I lifted a hand to block off the sunlight while waiting for my vision to get clearer.
"Dal!" Alex's worried face appeared before me.
I turned to my left. The park attendant who operated the roller coaster was freaking out. She handed me a bottle of water and I smiled pallidly.
Too weak to open the bottle, Alex offered to help. I held on to the bottle as he assisted me in drinking.
"I'm so sorry! Please be okay, miss!" the park attendant quivered.
"Thank you for helping," I said, hoping to calm her nerves. "Don't worry, it's not your fault."
"I should be apologising. Thought you were tough enough to go on the ride. Really sorry, Dal. Please forgive me?" Alex wiped some of the water that dripped down the side of my mouth.
I actually fainted. I still cannot believe this happened. How embarrassing!
My cheeks turned red. "It's fine, Alex. I forgive you."
"Whew!" he breathed out and pulled me into a hug. "If only I knew you were fragile, I wouldn't have pulled you along."
"I didn't know either, to be honest."
"Well now we do," he replied and we all laughed.
"I'll leave you two alone, then? Do inform our staff if anything happens. I didn't expect this to occur, really. Despite that, I hope you two will have a pleasant day ahead!" the attendant smiled, relieved that I was alright.
"Thank you," Alex and I waved.
"So, whaddya wanna do?" he asked, rubbing circles on my back.
"I'm hungry," I groaned, acting really starved.
"You need to lose weight," he chuckled playfully and didn't allow me any time to rebut before carrying me down to the Mexican restaurant.
