“Clout Chaser, Stop This Now!”- EFCC Slams Sabinus Over Viral “Wanted” Poster
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to a viral poster falsely claiming that Nigerian skitmaker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ijekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, had been declared wanted by the agency.
The poster, which circulated widely on social media, sparked confusion among fans and followers of the comedian, prompting the anti-graft agency to issue a response.
Taking to its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the EFCC dismissed the claim and criticised the skitmaker, accusing him of seeking attention.
“Clout chaser, stop this now!” the commission wrote.
The agency’s reaction has since fueled conversations online, with many Nigerians debating the trend of using controversial or misleading content for publicity.
While some users supported the EFCC’s stance, others called for caution in verifying information before sharing it online.
