UNIUYO SUG restricts unauthorized movement of students for Political Activities

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Uyo has announced a restriction on the unauthorized movement of students for political or campaign-related activities across its campuses.

In an official statement issued by the Office of the President, the union declared that no student, group of students, or association is permitted to mobilize or move students out of any campus for political engagements, campaign meetings, or related gatherings without prior approval.

The directive specifies that express approval must be obtained from the Students' Union President, Comrade Utibe-Abasi Afia, before any such activity can take place.

According to the statement, the measure is aimed at maintaining order, ensuring the safety and welfare of students, and guaranteeing that all student-related activities are properly coordinated in line with the university’s regulations and policies.

The union further warned that any student or group found violating this directive will face strict disciplinary actions in accordance with the institution’s rules.

The directive takes immediate effect, and all students and student groups are expected to comply fully.
