Kunle Afolayan Responds To Rumours About Funke Akindele Joining Anikulapo

Nollywood director and actor Kunle Afolayan has addressed circulating rumours on social media about a supposed discussion with Funke Akindele concerning her involvement in his Netflix series Anikulapo.

The gossip suggested that Afolayan approached the Behind The Scenes producer to take on the character of Arolake, a role eventually played by Bimbo Ademoye.

The online speculation claimed that Funke requested a fee of N3.5 million for the part, which Afolayan reportedly declined, leading him to cast another actress instead.

“Kunle Afolayan said when he was looking for a vibrant female actress who can act as Queen Arolake in his super hit movie Anikulapo, he contacted Funke Akindele and she demanded 3.5m naira per role, Which he refused and looked for someone else, the moment she heard that they have started making the movie she stopped talking to him, even though they kept on meeting in different movies event, then he said he later contacted her just to congratulate her, on her latest movie success, but she told him not to ever talk or mention her name again, he said this on Arise Tv interview few days ago,” a Blogger Yeyekudicourtroom wrote.
