ABUTH revised academic Calendar for Second Semester, 2025/2026
The management of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria, through its School of Health Information Management, has officially released the revised academic calendar for the 2025/2026 second semester.
According to the institution, the updated calendar was approved during the Academic Board meeting held on March 25, 2026. The revised schedule outlines key academic activities for the semester, including lectures, examinations, project submissions, and breaks.
Lectures for the second semester commenced on Monday, March 23, 2026, and are scheduled to run until Friday, May 29, 2026, spanning a period of ten weeks.
The Easter break will take place from Thursday, April 2 to Tuesday, April 7, 2026, lasting five days. In addition, students will observe the Id-el-Kabir break from Friday, May 22 to Monday, June 1, 2026, for one week.
Students are expected to submit the final draft copies of their projects on or before May 27, 2026. This will be followed by the external project defense scheduled from Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26, 2026.
The institution has also designated a Scientific/Health Week, which will be held from Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24, 2026.
The second semester examinations will begin on Monday, June 8 and end on Friday, June 26, 2026, covering a duration of three weeks.
After the examinations, students will proceed on a one-week second semester break from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3, 2026.
Practical training under the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) will commence on Monday, July 6 and end on Friday, September 25, 2026, lasting twelve weeks.
The institution also announced that the 2026/2027 academic session is expected to begin in October 2026.
Course form registration for the semester will take place from Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 24, 2026.
Marking and submission of examination scripts are scheduled from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 17, 2026, followed by the Unit Board of Examiners meeting from Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24, 2026.
The Academic Board meeting for the approval of results is set for Monday, August 3, 2026.
The institution emphasized that all national and state public holidays will be duly observed during the academic session.
