The University of Uyo, Nigeria, has announced its 131st Inaugural Lecture, scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the institution’s main campus.
The lecture, titled “Cause, Course and Consequence of Change and Continuity in the Small Wars of Nigeria’s Niger Delta” , will be delivered by Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, a Professor of Military History.
The event will feature His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, as the Special Guest of Honour.
According to the announcement, the lecture is slated to begin at 14:45 hours at the 1000-Seater TETFund Auditorium, University of Uyo Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Samuel G. Odewumi, will serve as the host of the event.
Members of the academic community, students, and the general public are invited to attend the lecture, which is expected to provide deep insights into the dynamics of conflict and continuity in the Niger Delta region.
