BOUESTI update on the transportation cost within the campus

Consequent upon the agitations between the Student Union Executives and the bus drivers over the increase in transportation costs, due to hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, a meeting of the University Management, the Student Union Executives, and bus drivers was convened today, Monday, 23rd March, 2026.

After deliberations, it was resolved that the cost of transportation should now be fixed at N400:00 per trip on a tentative basis. It was also agreed at the meeting that the fare would be reviewed downward when the price of fuel stabilizes in the market.

To this end, members of the University Community (staffs & students) are hereby advised to adhere to this directive, maintain the existing peace within and outside the University, and await further developments regarding fuel prices and the general economic situation in the Country.
