UCL: ‘Bad result’ – Carragher predicts team to qualify for quarter-final between Liverpool, Galatasaray

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has predicted the Reds to qualify for the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League despite their ‘bad result’ against Galatasaray.

Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League Round of 16 first-leg tie on Tuesday in Turkey.

The Turkish Super Lig giants will face Liverpool in the return leg next week at Anfield.

However, Carragher believes Arne Slot’s side will beat Galatasaray and qualify for the Champions League last-8.

Speaking on CBS Sports, the Englishman said after the game, “This was a bad in the end for Liverpool.

“Bad result, really poor in the second half as well. First-half started well, but I don’t think Galatasaray had a great team. It is still a team Liverpool should beat and should go through.

“So, I am still 98 per cent Liverpool will go through to the quarter-final,” he said.
