FCE Oyo College Transport Committee (CTC) releases updated Campus Transport Fares

The College Transport Committee (CTC) of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, has officially released an updated schedule of transport fares for both campus motorcycles (Campus Movers) and shuttle buses (Campus Shuttle). The directive, aimed at regulating transportation costs within the institution and its surrounding routes, also carries a stern warning against overcharging.

According to the new tariff sheet, commercial motorcycle operators, known as Campus Movers, are to charge fixed rates for various routes. Key fares include ₦500 from Akinmoorin, Jobele, and IDS to the College, while trips from Durbar to the College are set at ₦1,000. Short trips within the college premises are pegged at ₦300.

The Campus Shuttle (bus) service also has specified rates, with the Owode to College route costing ₦300, Durbar to College at ₦400, and Akinmoorin to College at ₦250.

In a notable clause aimed at protecting commuters, the committee noted that passengers who board along the road are permitted to negotiate a fare lower than the officially stated prices.

However, the committee issued a strong warning to all transport operators, stating that any form of overcharging would be treated as extortion. "Overcharging of fares amounts to extortion and is punishable with commensurate penalty," the notice read.
