Federal Polytechnic Bauchi disclaimer notice on fake Ramadan restriction circular
The management of The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has dismissed as false a purported circular circulating on social media alleging restrictions on male and female students during the month of Ramadan.
In a disclaimer issued by the Office of the Registrar on February 26, 2026, the institution described the circular as malicious, misleading, and entirely baseless. The Polytechnic clarified that the document did not emanate from the Office of the Registrar or any official of the institution.
According to the statement, the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi remains a co-educational federal tertiary institution that recognizes and permits legitimate academic and social interactions among students within the bounds of decency and institutional regulations.
The management further emphasized that the Polytechnic is a multi-religious, multicultural, and cosmopolitan institution with students and staff drawn from across Nigeria and beyond. It stated that the school does not promote or enforce any mono-religious orientation in its policies or operations.
The Registrar’s office also stressed that neither the Registrar nor any officer of the Polytechnic would issue such what it described as an irrational and unfounded directive.
Members of the public, including parents, guardians, students, alumni, and other stakeholders, have been advised to disregard the said circular in its entirety and to always verify information through the institution’s official communication channels.
