Adamawa road crash kill four women, injure 26 others
A motor accident on Monday evening left four women dead and 26 others injured along the Yola-Mubi road in Adamawa State.
The vehicle, according to the Deputy chairman of Song local government area of the state, Donan Prambe, was conveying the women to the Annual Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria in Demsa Local Government Area when the accident occurred.
She explained that the women are from LCCN Simra in Dunen town, Song Local Government, saying that he was driving behind the vehicle when, all of a sudden, he saw it somersaulting into the bush.
According to her, “Three women died on the spot, while others were seen lifeless, with their bodies covered in blood.”
She said both the bodies of the deceased and those injured were moved to the Specialist Hospital in Yola for treatment.
The medical director of the hospital, Dr Dauda Wadinga, assured that they were treating those who were brought alive.
Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesman of Adamawa State Police Command promised to provide an update after consulting the DPO in the area but has not done so as at when this report was filed.
