Nigeria’s online space is buzzing after tech entrepreneur Blord mounted a billboard featuring the image and audio of controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) to promote his new Ratel app.

The billboard, shared by Blord on social media as part of his marketing campaign, sparked reactions because of the ongoing feud between the two personalities. VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, is a well-known social critic and influencer in Nigeria, while Blord (Linus Williams Ifejirika) is a cryptocurrency investor and tech entrepreneur.

The conflict began in 2025 when VeryDarkMan publicly accused Blord of selling refurbished iPhone XR devices as iPhone 17 Pro models at inflated prices, claiming that Nigerians were being misled and overcharged. Blord denied the scamming allegations, and the dispute escalated into a highly public online clash.

Their feud intensified over branding rights to the term “Ratel,” which VeryDarkMan had used to refer to his supporter movement before Blord trademarked the name for his app. The legal and public debate over ownership of the mark added fuel to their rivalry.
