AFCON: Drama as Morocco’s ball boys attack Senegal’s Diouf during final clash
A little scene of drama broke out when Senegal’s reserve goalkeeper, Yehvann Diouf, was attacked by Morocco’s ball boys during the AFCON final tie on Sunday.
Waploaded reports that there was a tense atmosphere in the stadium during the final as attempts were repeatedly made to unsettle Senegal’s first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
However, Diouf was active all throughout the game holding the towel of his teammate, Mendy.
The 26-year-old had to fight off the ball boys and a Moroccan player.
The ball boys tried to steal the towel so that Mendy couldn’t wipe his hands.
As a result, Diouf had to guard the towel and engaged in a chase with the ball boys across the entire field.
Meanwhile, Senegal won the match 1-0 after 120 minutes, thanks to Pape Gueye’s goal.
