UNN shifts commencement of registration for new students , 2025/2026
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has announced a one-week postponement of the registration exercise for newly admitted students (Freshmen) for the current academic session.
In an internal memo issued on Monday and signed by Mrs. Chidinma E. Ambrose-Theanacho, Principal Assistant Registrar (Central Registry) on behalf of the University Registrar, the shift was attributed to the need for the university administration to conclude some pending logistical and administrative issues.
The memo, addressed to all Faculty Officers, stated: "I am directed to inform you that based on the directives of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), the registration exercise of the Freshmen has been shifted by one week."
While the specific new date for the commencement of the exercise was not stated in the circular, the registry assured that a "further date will be communicated" in due course. The university also apologized for any inconvenience the postponement might cause to students and their parents.
This development means that prospective students who were preparing to commence their registration process should await an official update from the university authorities for the revised schedule.
For more information, prospective students are advised to:
· Monitor the university's official website and student portal for updates.
· Contact their respective Faculty Offices for faculty-specific guidance once the new date is announced.
· Note that the memo was issued under reference number UN/RC.98/S.2.
