KWASU announces valedictory lecture on law and social change

Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced its 1st Valedictory Lecture, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 14th January 2026, at the KWASU Mini Convocation Arena, Malete, by 11:00 a.m.


The lecture, titled “Law as an Instrument of Social Change: Any Hope for Polygyny?”, will be delivered by Professor Najeem Adeyemi Ijaiya, a renowned scholar of Comparative and Islamic Law in the Faculty of Law, Kwara State University.


Professor Ijaiya holds several academic and professional qualifications, including LL.B, LL.M, MPhil, and PhD, and is an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Medical and Health Law, among other professional recognitions.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, will serve as the Chairman of the occasion.

Members of the university community and the general public are invited to attend physically, while a virtual option is also available via Microsoft Teams.

The event forms part of KWASU’s commitment to intellectual discourse, community development, and entrepreneurship-driven scholarship.
