Edo State University postpones physical resumption of undergraduate students
The management of Edo State University, Iyamo, formerly known as Edo University Uzairue, has announced the postponement of the physical resumption of academic activities for all undergraduate and JUPEB students.
The decision was approved at an Emergency Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. According to the university, the postponement is necessitated by ongoing renovation works in the Halls of Residence. As a result, undergraduate and JUPEB students are to remain off campus until further notice.
The university management assured students that a new date for physical resumption will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, all undergraduate students have been directed to actively participate in online lectures, which have already commenced. The management further emphasized that attaining at least 70 per cent lecture attendance remains a mandatory requirement for eligibility to sit for examinations.
Meanwhile, postgraduate students have been instructed to resume physically on Monday, January 12, 2026, for the continuation of first semester lectures for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The notice was signed by the Acting Registrar of the university, Mr. Vincen ERHAGBE.
