AFCON: 4 European clubs react to Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Mozambique

Four European clubs have reacted to Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Mozambique in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Round of 16 tie on Monday.

The clubs are Sevilla, Atalanta, Galatasaray, and Besiktas.

Recall that the Super Eagles defeated Mozambique, thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen (2), Ademola Lookman (1), and Akor Adams (1).

Reacting, Sevilla, who have Adams in their squad, tweeted: “A goal and two assists from Akor Adams helped Nigeria through to the quarter-finals of AFCON 2025.”

Similarly, Atalanta, who have Lookman in their squad, wrote: “Super performance by Lookman with one goal and assists: @NGSuperEagles beat Mozambique 4–0 and advance to the quarter-finals of the #AFCON2025.”

On their part, Galatasaray, who have Osimhen in their squad, wrote on X: “In the Africa Cup of Nations, we congratulate our player Victor Osimhen for his 2-goal performance in the match where Nigeria defeated Mozambique 4-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals.”

Also, Besiktas, who have Wilfred Ndidi in their squad, tweeted: “We congratulate our footballer Wilfred Ndidi and his country Nigeria for advancing to the quarterfinals by defeating Mozambique 4-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations.
