The University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (UAST), Ihugh, Benue State, has announced the commencement of its 2025 external recruitment exercise for qualified candidates to fill various academic, research, administrative, technical, and professional positions.

UAST, established in 2024 by the Benue State Government, is a research-intensive, innovation-led public university strategically located in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area. The institution was conceived as a 21st-century African university integrating agriculture, science, engineering, health, environmental studies, and digital innovation to address critical challenges such as food security, public health, climate resilience, industrial development, and sustainable livelihoods.

According to the University, its institutional mandate is built on five core pillars: excellence in teaching and learning; problem-solving and impact-driven research; technology transfer and innovation; community-engaged development; and ethical leadership with global citizenship. Guided by its founding philosophy, “Imagine. Aspire. Innovate. Create.”, UAST aims to cultivate a polymathic academic culture rooted in interdisciplinarity, sustainability, digital transformation, and measurable societal impact.

The application process opens on Monday, 22 December 2025, and closes on Sunday, 1 February 2026.

In a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar, the University cautioned applicants against using agents or intermediaries, stressing that UAST does not sell appointments and will not request any form of financial or non-financial inducement from applicants. Applications submitted through unofficial channels will not be entertained.

UAST reaffirmed its status as an equal-opportunity employer, committed to merit, diversity, inclusion, and the highest standards of competence, character, and commitment. Visionary scholars, administrators, professionals, technologists, and innovators seeking to contribute to a foundational legacy institution are encouraged to apply.

The announcement was signed by Dr. Johnson Ijale Echor, MNIM, MAUA, Registrar of the University.
