FUkashere gets approval to offer courses in Dental Surgery, Nursing & Occupational Therapy
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of three new full-time academic programmes for the Federal University Kashere (FUK), Gombe State. The approval follows a resource verification visit conducted by panels of experts to assess the human and material resources available for the proposed programmes.
In a letter dated 8th December 2025 and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, the NUC confirmed that the following programmes have been approved to commence from the 2025/2026 academic session:
1. B.D.S. Dental Surgery
2. B.N.Sc. Nursing Science
3. B.O.T. Occupational Therapy
The Commission, however, emphasized that the approval covers only the full-time mode of these programmes. Institutions wishing to run part-time versions must seek separate approval before commencing such modes.
The NUC further directed that the programmes must retain their approved titles and nomenclature, noting that any changes would require the Commission’s consent. The university has also been urged to ensure the provision of adequate human and material resources to support the growth and development of the newly approved programmes.
